Abstract:
Apparatus for removing liquid from or evenly distributing liquid over magnetically attractible articles by using centrifugal forces. The articles are fed to a non-magnetic rotating drum, a helical series of magnets being arranged inside the drum adjacent the inner surface thereof.
Abstract:
A dispensing device is pulled through a conduit while a coating material, such as a lubricant, is forcibly dispensed from the dispensing device and spread along the interior surface of the conduit. The dispensing device has an elongate tubular body with a hollow interior portion adapted for containing a supply of the coating material and having an opening in the body through which the coating material is dispensed. An elongate connector extends axially into the hollow interior of the elongate body through the leading end thereof and is connected to a piston located inside the hollow body. When the dispensing device encounters a frictional resistance as it is pulled through the conduit, the piston is pulled forwardly in the hollow body to forcibly dispense coating material from the dispenser and the dispenser thereafter spreads the coating material along the wall of the conduit.
Abstract:
A device for the application of a liquid corrosion-preventive compound, mainly enamel slip, to the inner surface of pipes in which a pipe installed vertically or at an angle is moved and a compound container connected to the lower end of said pipe relatively to each other vertically to allow the compound to flow from the container into the pipe and back. The device is provided with a float valve installed in the pipe and switching the drive of a hoisting mechanism with the container for lowering as soon as the compound rising inside the pipe acts upon said valve.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for interior painting of a pipe, particularly of small diameter, is characterized by filling of a pipe with both ends open with paint, hanging the pipe vertical and passing a ball of a diameter smaller than the inside diameter of the pipe from the upper end of the pipe to fall down by its gravity through the pipe and strip off excessive paint so as to form a film of uniform thickness of paint of the inner surface of the pipe.
Abstract:
Balloon inserted through gas pipe, inflated in gas main beyond angle fitting, deflated and withdrawn thereinto, reinflated and lining material charged thereagainst at greater pressure. Pressure indicated on outside gauge verifies position of balloon.
Abstract:
A method is provided of applying a coating material to a concave surface of an article that has a rim around the concave surface, and a cavity between the concave surface and the rim. The method includes discharging coating material in a liquid form into the cavity, extracting a first amount of the discharged liquid coating material from the cavity, thereby leaving a residual amount of the liquid coating on the concave surface within the cavity, and maintaining the article in conditions appropriate to allow the residual amount of liquid coating material to cure on the concave surface.
Abstract:
A coating device for coating composite cellulose honeycomb support parts (1) each having a multiplicity of channels (5, 6) extending in an axial direction with an impregnation coating to increase fire, water-resistance and/or mechanical stability of the support parts (1). A conveyor (8) transports the support parts (1) in a conveying direction along a filling station (9) configured to pour impregnation agent (12) from above into the channels (5, 6), and damming agents (16) are configured such that the impregnation agent (12) is prevented or at least delayed from draining downwards out of the channels (5, 6) such that the impregnation agent (12) builds up in the channels (5, 6). An emptying station (19) is arranged downstream of the filling station (9) in the conveying direction, at which emptying station excess impregnation agent (12) drains out of the channels (5, 6) in the composite cellulose honeycomb support parts (1). A corresponding process is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The method to radially displace liquid liner inside a pipe includes the step of flowing the liner around a distributive body placed within a pipe gas stream. As the gas streams past the distributive body, the liner coats the pipe homogeneously from top to bottom.
