Abstract: An exoskeleton includes a first link that pivots in a transverse plane about a first vertical axis and a second link that pivots in a transverse plane about a second vertical axis. The second link is coupled to the first link. An arm support assembly is coupled to the second link and pivots about a horizontal axis. The arm support assembly includes a spring that generates an assistive torque that counteracts gravity. The arm support assembly provides the assistive torque to an arm of a wearer to support the arm of the wearer. The arm support assembly further includes a cam profile and a cam follower. Contact between the spring, cam follower and cam profile determines an amount of the assistive force provided by the arm support assembly. A cuff is coupled to the arm support assembly and the arm of the wearer.

Abstract: A system for use during administration of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) chest compressions on a victim is described. The system includes a chest compression monitor that includes a motion sensor configured to generate signals indicative of the victim's chest motion and a control system communicatively coupled to the chest compression monitor and configured to receive the generated signals, detect compression waveform features representative of the chest compressions based on the received signals, compare the features to a pre-determined criterion that distinguishes between a manual source of the chest compressions and a piston-based chest compression device source, determine whether the source of the chest compressions is the manual or the piston-based chest compression device source based on the comparison, and generate an output based on whether the source of the chest compressions is determined to be the manual or the piston-based chest compression device source.

Abstract: A multi-purpose apparatus for treating an animal. The apparatus includes at least two vibrators; a massage head coupled with the at least two vibrators; a controller configured to control the at least two vibrators such that they generate a variable beat frequency to the massage head; and a housing accommodating the at least two vibrators, the massage head, and the controller. The massage head comprises a concave curvature to follow contours of the animal so that the concave curvature becomes in contact with a musculoskeletal system of the animal, the massage head is coupled with the at least two vibrators so that two vibrators are positioned at opposite ends of the concave curvature. The massage head is adapted and dimensioned such that an interchangeable curry brush curved to follow the contours of the animal is coupleable with the massage head.
