Abstract: A filter assembly includes a ring of filter media, a first end cap, a second end cap, a first seal, and a second seal. The first end cap is coupled to a first end of the filter media. The second end cap is coupled to a second end of the filter media and includes (i) a radially extending portion having a first opening and (ii) a first axially extending portion having a stepped ledge defining a first inner diameter. The first seal is supported by the second end cap and includes a second opening defining a second inner diameter that is less than the first inner diameter. The second seal is supported by the second end cap and includes a third opening defining a third inner diameter that is greater than the first and second inner diameters. The stepped ledge is disposed between the first seal and the second seal.

The system also includes a first screen vessel configured to receive at least a portion of the partially-separated fluid, the first screen vessel including a first shell, and a first screen that is positioned within the first shell and at least partially removable therefrom, and a second screen vessel spatially oriented parallel to the first screen vessel and configured to receive at least a portion of the partially-separated fluid. The second screen vessel includes a second shell and a second screen that is positioned within the second shell and is at least partially removable therefrom.

Abstract: An apparatus for filtering water has an interface and a filtration/purification canister removably mountable onto the interface. Connecting the canister to the interface automatically opens a check valve in the interface to permit water to flow from the interface into and through the canister, and then back to and through the interface to an outlet port. Disconnecting the canister from the interface automatically closes the check valve, stopping the flow of water. The interface provides for water boiler expansion pressure relief, which guarding against any water contaminated downstream of the apparatus from backflowing into the filtration/purification canister and contaminating the portion of the filtration/purification canister downstream of the filter/conditioning/purifying medium held within the filtration/purification canister and thereby causing water exiting the outlet port of the filtration/purification canister to be contaminated.

Abstract: A strip-shaped filter in the shape of a circular arc is arranged at a port opening portion of an oil passage, the port opening portion being in maximum proximity to a spool hole portion or a valve element, to prevent a contaminant in the oil passage from reaching the spool hole portion or the valve element. A groove portion is arranged to extend in a circumferential direction in a wall surface of the upper body which defines the spool hole portion. The port opening portion is defined in the groove portion, and is connected to the oil passage. The filter is housed in the groove portion to close the port opening portion defined in the groove portion.
