Abstract:
A gait rehabilitation machine and a method of using the same for lower-limb rehabilitation. The gait rehabilitation machine includes: a frame; a rear supporting member provided at the frame so that the back side of a human body can lean against the rear supporting member; a thigh supporting member corresponding to a thigh of the human body and pivotally connected to the frame; a shank supporting member corresponding to the corresponding shank of the human body, pivotally connected to the thigh supporting member, and having a pedal to be stepped on by the human body; a knee supporting member corresponding to the corresponding knee of the human body and provided at the thigh supporting member or the shank supporting member; and a transmission device for driving the shank supporting member to move. Thus, a patient can do lower-limb gait rehabilitation exercise without using a suspension system.

A sexual stimulation device includes an elongated dildo housing sized to be received within an orifice of a human body, the housing defining an internal cavity extending along a longitudinal axis of the housing, a mass laterally constrained within the cavity and movable linearly along the cavity, and an electrically driven actuator disposed within the housing and operably coupled to the mass. Treatment protocols for preparing a subject's skin to receive skin formulations having one or more active materials are provided. The devices and/or methods for carrying out the treatment protocols aim to increase the skin's ability for skin formulations to penetrate or infuse into the SC layers thereof. The treatment protocol includes the application of shearing forces in order to part, tear, or form fissures only in the Stratum Corneum (SC) of the subject's skin without inducing trauma in viable skin layers below the SC. After application of shearing forces to the skin, a skin formulation can be applied to the sheared areas of skin.

A massager with symmetric massaging structure includes first and second casing assemblies coupled to a connection belt each and connected pivotally by first and second movable sleeves, respectively. The casing assemblies, whose included angles are adjustable, have therein power sources for driving first and second transmission members connecting with and driving first and second massaging sets to knead a user's body in a fixed-point manner. The transmission members drive the tooth-guiding groove screws to advance toward the movable sleeves in a fixed-point manner, respectively. With first and second tooth-like keys, the movable sleeves engage with tooth-guiding grooves of the tooth-guiding groove screws, respectively. The tooth-guiding groove screws rotate to pull synchronously the casing assemblies toward each other or away from each other. After restoring its initial position, one said massaging set does not move together with the other massaging set until the other massaging set restores its initial position too.

The invention concerns a variable-length crutch 1 comprising a main body 2, a foot 5 extensible and retractable with respect to said main body 2, and an actuator comprising a motor 6 with a rotary output shaft 9 and a worm transmission in order to convert a rotation of said motor shaft 9 into a linear movement of said foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The worm transmission is irreversible. The actuator also comprises a programmable module 8 controlling the motor 6 and a sensor 10 for extending the foot 5 with respect to the main body 2. The module 8 is connected to said motor 6 in order to control the extension and/or retraction of the crutch to a preprogrammed length and to stop the motor 6 when said length is reached.

The settling body creates various moving directions according to the operation states of the first and second moving units and the first and second crank motors, and each magnitude of forces applied to each moving direction is changed, thereby forming the various waveforms.

A portable, foldable, and multifunctional mobility aid apparatus that assists a user in standing, sitting, and/or walking process. The apparatus has an integrated power source and is based on 4 wheels. Users can stand on it and drive it as an electric mobility device, or disable it and use it as a passive walker. The apparatus has a pair of supporting beams with adjustable width to be placed under the user armpits and support the user in standing up, sitting down, and/or moving around. The apparatus can be controlled by a control panel mounted on a pair of handles, and its functions can be controlled by the user with no need for help from another person. The apparatus can be minimized by a combination of multiple telescopic vertical minimization mechanisms and multiple folding mechanisms.
