Abstract: The foot massage pad of the invention includes a substrate which form a base for the foot massage pad. The substrate can be made of any material that is sufficiently rigid to maintain its shape when used as described below. For example, the substrate might be plastic, wood, metal, stone, rubber, or any other suitable material. In one preferred embodiment, the substrate is composed of neoprene rubber or similar material. The substrate has a top surface and a bottom surface. The bottom surface of the substrate is designed to engage frictionally with the surface below it to restrict movement of the substrate. The substrate may be placed on the floor, for example, and the bottom surface will cause additional friction to maintain the substrate's position when force is applied to it. In some embodiments, the material composing the substrate has a high coefficient of friction, though a texture may be applied to bottom surface to increase friction.

Abstract: Medical pressure therapy can be used on a patient having undergone treatment to reopen an arterial obstruction, such as a stenosis or occlusion. The medical pressure therapy can establish and maintain persistently good distal runoff. The can help ensure the patency of the region having undergone the treatment procedure. In some examples, the technique involves enclosing at least a portion of a limb of a patient on which an obstruction treatment procedure has been performed in an enclosure such that the portion of the limb is sealed from external conditions. The technique further involves alternately applying a negative pressure within the enclosure and releasing the negative pressure from within the enclosure, thereby increasing a volume and velocity of blood flowing past a region of the blood vessel previously-obstructed and thereby increasing distal runoff.

Abstract: A leg support exoskeleton is strapped on as wearable device to support its user during squatting. The exoskeleton includes a knee joint connected to a first line and a second link, which is configured to allow flexion and extension motion between the first link and the second link. A force generator has a first end that is rotatably connected to the first link. A constraining mechanism is connected to the second link and has at least two operational positions. In a first operational position, the second end of the force generator engages the constraining mechanism, where the first link and the second link flex relative to each other. In a second operational position, the second end of the force generator does not engage the constraining mechanism; the first link and the second link are free to flex and extend relative to each other.

Abstract: A apparatus includes an a exoskeleton system with a plurality of sensors for generating signals indicating a current motion and a current arrangement of at least the exoskeleton system, a hip segment, and at least one lower limb. The lower limb includes thigh and shank segments for coupling to a lateral surface of a user's leg. The thigh segment includes a first powered joint coupling the thigh segment to the hip segment, a second powered joint coupling the thigh segment to the shank segment, and a controller coupled to the sensors, the first powered joint, and the second powered joint. The controller is configured for determining a current state of the exoskeleton system and a current intent of the user based on the signals and generating control signals for the first and second powered joints based on the current state and the current intent.

Abstract: Exoskeleton technology is described herein. Such technology includes but is not limited to exoskeletons, exoskeleton controllers, methods for controlling an exoskeleton, and combinations thereof. The exoskeleton technology may facilitate, enhance, and/or supplant the natural mobility of a user via a combination of sensor elements, processing/control elements, and actuating elements. User movement may be elicited by electrical stimulation of the user's muscles, actuation of one or more mechanical components, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the exoskeleton technology may adjust in response to measured inputs, such as motions or electrical signals produced by a user. In this way, the exoskeleton technology may interpret known inputs and learn new inputs, which may lead to a more seamless user experience.

Abstract: A trigger point therapy device for applying pressure to a localized area of myofascial tissue that is accessed from the exterior of a patient's body. The therapy device includes a base portion has top and bottom surfaces that define a width dimension for the base portion. The therapy device also includes a pressure applicator that is connected to the base portion. The device allows an equivalent amount of pressure to be applied while the patient is lying on a soft surface as compared to lying on a hard surface. This increases the length of time that a patient will can comfortably use the device and promotes usage of the device by the patient. A method includes placing the device on a soft surface and positioning a patient on the soft surface to place the pressure applicator in engagement with the localized area of myofascial tissue.
