Abstract:
The catalyst may be used to obtain hydrogen or synthesis gas for chemical industry in processes of partial oxidation, steam reforming, and autothermal reforming of a hydrocarbon feed. The catalyst of oxidative conversion of gaseous hydrocarbons to form carbon monoxide and hydrogen contains platinum-group metals and an oxide composition and characterized in that the platinum-group metals include Pt, Pd, and Rh and the oxide composition is obtained from a mixture of a sol of Al, Si, and Zr hydroxides with particles of Ni, Mg and/or Ce oxides with a size of 5-30 nm, that were obtained by spray-pyrolysis of a solution of Ni, Mg and/or Ce salts.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of preparing a carbon fiber-reinforced silicon carbide composite material, wherein carbon nanotubes are formed in the composite material, and then metal silicon is melted and infiltrated into the composite material, so the amount of unreacted metal is reduced and the strength of the composite material is improved, and provides a carbon fiber-reinforced silicon carbide composite material prepared by the method.
Abstract:
The current invention provides a hydrotreating catalyst comprising of metals of at least one each from Group VIB, preferably molybdenum and Group VIII, preferably nickel, of the periodic table supported on alumina modified with small amounts of modifying elements well dispersed on the surface so as to retain the physico-chemical characteristics of the support and result in high performance for hydrodesulphurization catalyst, and a commercially viable process for producing such a catalyst. The present invention also discloses a commercially viable method for modifying alumina in the powder form without affecting the porous structure of the support obtained.
Abstract:
A process for olefin metathesis is disclosed. The process involves contacting a feedstock comprising a first olefin and a second olefin having a carbon number at least two greater than that of the first olefin with a catalyst comprising a tungsten component on a refractory oxide support, e.g. silica at metathesis conditions to provide a product olefin having an intermediate carbon number between that of the first and second olefin. The catalyst is characterized in that it is first pretreated with hydrogen followed by treatment with ethylene.
Abstract:
The present invention provides catalysts, methods, and reactor systems for converting oxygenated hydrocarbons to oxygenated compounds. The invention includes methods for producing cyclic ethers, monooxygenates, dioxygenates, ketones, aldehydes, carboxylic acids, and alcohols from oxygenated hydrocarbons, such as carbohydrates, sugars, sugar alcohols, sugar degradation products, and the like, using catalysts containing Group VIII metals. The oxygenated compounds produced are useful in the production of liquid fuels, chemicals, and other products.

The present invention relates to combinations comprising hydrogen gas or a hydrogen donor agent and nanoclays comprising metallic cerium or cerium oxide particles. The invention also relates to compositions, nanocomposite materials and containers comprising these combinations. Additionally, the present invention relates to methods for obtaining these combinations and to the use thereof in packaging oxygen- and oxidation-sensitive products.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a dehydrogenation catalyst having a macropore size and a high active density of platinum, suitable for use in dehydrogenation of a hydrocarbon gas. This dehydrogenation catalyst having a macropore size and a high active density of platinum is highly active, has high active density per unit catalytic surface area, facilitates material transfer of reactants and products, delays deactivation due to coke formation, keeps the initial activity constant after being regenerated thanks to the disposal of coke, has high strength and so is resistant to external impact, and undergoes neither structural changes due to heat nor changes in the properties of active materials.
