Abstract:
In a color imaging system, multiple rendering devices are provided at different nodes along a network. Each rendering device has a color measurement instrument for calibrating the color presented by the rendering device. A rendering device may be a printer in which the measuring of color samples on a sheet rendered by the printer is provided by a sensor coupled to a transport mechanism which moves the sensor and sheet relative to each other, where the sensor provides light from the samples to a spectrograph. A rendering device may also be a display having a member supporting a color measuring instrument for receiving light from an area of the screen. The color measuring instruments provide for non-contact measurements of color samples rendered on a display or a sheet, and are self-calibrating by the use of calibration references.
Abstract:
A spectrocolorimeter comprises: a calculation unit configured to calculate wavelengths of dispersing light rays respectively received by a plurality of pixels included in a light detection unit using a correspondence relationship between pixels and wavelengths of a plurality of extremal value points in a profile of dispersing light rays detected by the light detection unit upon execution of colorimetry of a reference object to be measured, wherein when the calculation unit calculates the wavelengths of the dispersing light rays respectively received by the plurality of pixels, the calculation unit adjusts a colorimetry condition for respective extremal value points so that signals to be output from pixels corresponding to the plurality of extremal value points have output levels which are not less than a reference and are not saturated.

Some embodiments of the methods and means of the invention also incorporate additional functionality including, but not limited to communication, sensing, display and data processing elements. Various embodiments of the methods and means of the invention may be performed by and/or implemented in hardware, in software, by one or more entities, and/or by some combination of hardware, software and/or one or more entities.
Abstract:
The method is for identifying and selecting a color or a combination of colors. A color sphere (200) is provided that has a first color pocket (238) defined between a first horizontal disc (202) and a second horizontal disc (208) and vertical inserts (212c, 212b) extending between the first horizontal disc and the second horizontal disc. The first horizontal disc has a plurality of organized first spectrum of color cells and the second horizontal disc has a plurality of organized second spectrum of color cells. The first spectrum is gradually lighter than the second spectrum and gradually more gray from a peripheral surface (209) towards an axial opening (232a) of the first horizontal disc and an axial opening (232b) of the second horizontal discs. A first color cell (236) is identified in a first pocket (238).
Abstract:
A multispectral imaging color measurement system, comprising a dark room, a sample platform and an imaging device for capturing said object being measured; a controllable illumination device, a filter wheel unit, an imaging signal processing unit and an electronic control unit. A method for processing imaging signals of the multispectral imaging color measurement is also proposed. The multispectral imaging color measurement system and the method for processing imaging signals thereof can overcome the inaccuracy of traditional digital imaging systems and the limits of spectrophotometer systems and provide users in the textile industry with highly accurate color measurement and evaluation.

The kit comprises a control sample and a product sample, where each of the sample comprises a set of super absorbent polymer beads. The set of beads in the control sample are simultaneously or sequentially contacted with a control sample solution and a melanin generator, and the set of beads in the product sample are simultaneously or sequentially contacted with a product sample solution and a melanin generator. The control sample solution is free of whitening actives, and the product sample solution comprises one or more whitening actives. A method of visualizing to a consumer a whitening benefit provided by a cosmetic composition is also provided.
Abstract:
A dental color measurement tool disposed opposite an opening portion for capturing light from an artificial tooth to undergo color measurement with a color measurement device includes at least one pair of guide posts having an engaging portion corresponding to an engaging portion on the color measurement device side, and an abutment post disposed between the pair of guide posts and having a pointed convex shape to which the artificial tooth can be mounted. The abutment post has a color measurement reference surface in a color measurement light axis direction as the vicinity of a focus position of the color measurement device in a photographing state. When performing color measurement photographing, the artificial tooth is mounted to the abutment post to position the front thereof at the color measurement reference surface. Thus, the artificial tooth can be stably retained at a suitable position with respect to the color measurement device.
