    Abstract: The method according to an embodiment may be a method of transporting a liquid to a device in which a plurality of microwells formed on a substrate. The method may include: forming, in advance, at a position different from the device, a multiphase plug in which a solution for filling the plurality of microwells and an immiscible liquid that is immiscible with the solution for sealing the plurality of microwells filled with the solution are arranged in that order from a front in a flow direction; and transporting the multiphase plug to the device.

    Abstract: A solution replacement method according to an embodiment may be a solution replacement method of replacing a solution in a plurality of microwells formed on a substrate. The method may include: replacing an immiscible liquid that is immiscible to a first solution and seals the plurality of microwells that are filled with the first solution, with a gas; and filling the plurality of microwells with a second solution by introducing the second solution onto the substrate on which the immiscible liquid has been replaced with the gas.
