Abstract: An electrostatic powder coating device comprises a shaped body extending along a longitudinal axis and housing an internal chamber configured to contain a fluid bed of powder coating. A closing plate of the internal chamber comprises a first intake duct of a powder coating into the internal chamber and a second intake duct of pressurized air into the internal chamber. The shaped body comprises first and second elements extending along the longitudinal axis, the first element comprising a first surface defining a lower portion of the internal chamber, the second element comprising a second surface defining an upper portion of the internal chamber connected to the first element. The first and second elements each comprise respective peripheral edges facing each other to form slits putting the internal chamber in communication with the outside of the shaped body, a plurality of electrodes arranged at the slits and connected to voltage generators.

Abstract: A powder spray gun includes a powder flow path inlet and a powder flow path outlet, the powder flow path inlet being connectable in a first configuration to a dilute phase powder pump and in a second configuration to a dense phase powder pump, wherein the powder spray gun comprises a spray nozzle that is the same for the first and second configurations. The powder flow path may also include a conical transition portion, and a member for adding air to the powder flow.

In one embodiment, a system for electrostatic deposition of cosmetic material on a surface includes: a housing; a nozzle configured for breaking the cosmetic material into cosmetic particles and for directing the cosmetic particles out of the housing and toward the surface; and a reservoir configured for holding the cosmetic material. The nozzle electrode is configured to charge the cosmetic particles.

Abstract: The electrospray device comprises a sprayer comprising a sprayer body and nozzle, and a partition positioned vertically and coaxially with the sprayer. The sprayer body is provided with a swirl generator for generating a swirling air stream, and a power supply connected between the nozzle and the partition, to apply voltage to the nozzle and the partition. The electrospray device may be part of a fluidized bed apparatus comprising a product container, a lower plenum base, an air distribution plate resided therebetween. When the power supply applies voltage in opposite polarities to the nozzle and the partition, the fluidized bed apparatus is used for coating particles; and when the power supply applies voltage of the same, the fluidized bed apparatus is used for spray-drying a solution. The electrospray device uses an electromagnetic hydrodynamic method to improve the performance of the fluidized bed apparatus and optimize the process of product.

Abstract: The angle adapter according to the invention for a powder spray device comprises an upstream housing, which has an upstream powder channel, a connection to the powder spray device, and a longitudinal axis, about which the housing can be rotated. The powder spray device additionally comprises a pivot body comprising a downstream powder channel, which connects to the upstream powder channel The pivot body can be pivoted about a pivot axis, whereby the pivot axis runs obliquely to the longitudinal axis. Several webs and grooves are provided at the housing and pivot body, whereby the webs protrude into the grooves, and the webs and grooves are formed so that they form a labyrinth. A high voltage line is furthermore provided, which extends from the upstream housing via the pivot body all the way into the nozzle and which is formed there as high voltage electrode.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to ultrahigh efficiency spray drying systems and processes, utilizing induction of localized turbulence in a drying fluid flow stream to produce spray dried product, having particular utility for low temperature spray drying operations. In a specific implementation, a method of processing a spray dryable liquid composition to form a spray dried product includes the steps of: generating a spray of the spray dryable liquid composition; contacting the spray of spray dryable liquid composition in a spray drying contact zone with a stream of primary drying fluid; injecting pressurized secondary drying fluid into the stream of primary drying fluid in the spray drying contact zone at multiple loci thereof to provide localized turbulence at said multiple loci; and recovering the spray dried product from the spray drying contact zone. Systems of the present disclosure are effective in achieving high-rate production of dry powder spray dried products, with substantially reduced capital equipment costs, energy requirements, and operating expenditures.

Abstract: A surgical spray instrument is disclosed comprising a main body connectable to a transfer tube; a propellant actuator for selectively releasing propellant from the main body and along the transfer tube and out through a distal end thereof. The surgical assembly comprises an ion emitter; a dispenser having an outlet locatable within the cavity and for dispensing the particulate material therefrom, and a processor for determining a location of the ion emission zone of the ion emitter in dependence upon the position of the outlet of the distributor within the cavity to provide for the uniform deposition.

Abstract: A method of stripping, prepping and coating a surface comprises first stripping the exiting coating from a surface, using continuous or pulsed fluid jet, followed by prepping the surface by the same fluid jet. The method also provides entraining particles into a fluid stream, if desired to generate a particle-entrained fluid stream that is directed at the surface to be stripped and prepped. The particles act as abrasive particles for prepping the surface to a prescribed surface roughness required for subsequent application of a coating to the surface. The method then entails coating the surface by electrically charging particles having the same chemical composition as the particles used to prep the surface. Finally, a charged-particle-entrained fluid stream is directed at high speed at the charged surface to coat the surface. The particles form both mechanical and electronic bonds with the surface.
