Abstract: PURPOSE: A bi-material brake disk is provided to improve the durability and strength by making a disk hat of ductile cast iron and improve the frictional force with a pad by making a friction plate of gray cast iron. CONSTITUTION: A bi-material brake disk(100) is composed of a disk hat(160), a friction plate(120) and a cavity. The disk hat is combined in a knuckle part of a vehicle. The disk hat is made of ductile cast iron. The friction plate is manufactured in a disk shape. The friction plate covers the lower end of the disk hat. The friction plate is contacted with a brake pad. The friction plate is made of gray cast iron to strengthen the frictional force. The disk hat and the friction plate are formed in the cavity at the united structure. The cavity is formed within a mold.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An integral brake disk and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to simplify a process by using different kinds of cast iron. CONSTITUTION: An integral brake disk(1000) comprises a friction unit(100), a hub(300), and a connection unit(200). The friction unit is in contact with a pad. The hub is joined with a bearing. The friction unit and hub are made of different kinds of materials through an integrated molding. The connection unit connects the friction unit to the hub. The connection unit is connected to the hub in the lower end and is laterally separated from the hub. The connection unit is formed with an interface(210) made of different kinds of materials. A stepped protrusion is formed between the connection unit and hub in order not to overflow a casting.
