Abstract:
An oral composition and method for use thereof, comprising in an orally acceptable vehicle, an effective antiplaque amount of a noncationic antibacterial agent, and an anionic copolymer formed from monomers of which about 40 to about 90 % by weight are hydrophilic type capable of attachment to oral surfaces and about 10 to about 60 % by weight are of a hydrophobic type; such oral composition being effective in increasing the uptake of the antibacterial compound to dental tissue so as to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of the administered antibacterial compound.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an active substance composition, specially a cosmetic agent, a light-screening agent or a vitamin composition, containing one or several compounds of formula (I), specially an active substance composition, containing as a compound of formula (I) ethylene diaminosuccinate (EDDS), ethylene diaminoglutamate (EDDG) or (2-hydroxy propylene)-1,3-diaminosuccinate (HPDDS). The invention also relates to the use of bis(dicarboxylic acid) diaminoalkylene derivatives of the above formula (I) as complexing agents for earth alkaline metal ions and heavy metal ions in active substance compositions, specially cosmetic agents, screening agents, vitamin compositions and for stabilizing oxidation-sensitive active substances.
Abstract:
2-Cyanoacrylic esters (I) of alpha , omega -bis(4-hydroxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperid-1-yl)alkanes or (cyclo)aliphatic polyols of the given formula (I) are new. R , R = the radical of an iso- or heterocyclic ring system with at least one iso- or heteroaromatic ring and ≥ 1 of R and R is not H, n = 2-10, if n = 2, X = a gp. of formula (II), m = 2-8; if n = 3-10, X = the radical of an n-hydric 3-20C (cyclo)aliphatic polyol, opt. with 1 or 2 heteroatoms in the cycloaliphatic gp. and up to 8 non-adjacent O or S atoms or -NH- or 1-4C alkylimino gps. in the aliphatic chain. Also claimed are various materials stabilised against the action of light, O2 and heat with (I).
