Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for easily switching different operations to input coordinates without making it necessary to preliminarily change the setting even when a coordinate input means capable of inputting the coordinates of only one point at the same time is used. SOLUTION: When first coordinates are inputted, whether or not second coordinates away from the first coordinates by a prescribed distance or more are inputted within a prescribed time is determined (steps S2-S4, S9), or after the first coordinates are inputted, whether or not the second coordinates away from the first coordinates by the prescribed distance or more are inputted with the prescribed time, and whether or not third coordinates in the prescribed neighborhood of the first coordinates are inputted afterwards within the prescribed time is determined (steps S2-S6, S9, S10), and first processing (a step S11) based on the first coordinates or second processing (a step S7) based on the first coordinates is executed according to the determination result. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system where DMA transfer is correctly executed even when DMA controllers exist in a self system and also in a docking station by adding the respective specified first and second DAM controllers and a control circuit. SOLUTION: This system includes a first and second DMA controllers where prescribed IO addresses are respectively assigned and the control circuit which responds to CPU 11 in place of the first and second DMA controllers when IO access to the prescribed IO address occurs. A bridge circuit 20 is constituted by adding the first DMA controller, an interrupting controller and a programmable interval timer. The bridge circuit 51 has almost the same configuration as the bridge circuit 20 at a PC side and also incorporates the second DMA controller for managing a DMA request and an interruption request which are generated on a secondary ISM bus 53 and an interruption controller.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of undocking (ejection) operation of a notebook-sized PC in a docking station 10. SOLUTION: A solenoid type electromagnetic device 70 normally projects out a plunger 71 toward an ejection button 34 to hold the ejection button at a standard position. According as a user pushes the ejection button 34 into a sinking position from the standard position, undocking request instructions of a driver for a device during operation in the docking station are sent to an OS of the mounted notebook-sized PC. When notification of undocking completion arrives from the OS, the solenoid type electromagnetic device 70 changes over the plunger 71 to a non-projection position, so that the ejection button 34 is positioned in a projection position by energizing force of a spring. When the user pushes in the ejection button 34 positioned in the projection position, a motion direction-converting lever 74 swings, and an undocking member 27 and a locking hook 29 operate, so that the PC is undocked. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a laser cover 13 whose freely separable part 17 has flexibility to turn a personal computer main body thickness part 11 and a digitizer thickness part 12 into a mutually overlapped state or a mutually opened state at the opposite side to a back middle part 15, and to accurately detect the overlapped state of the personal main body thickness part 11 and the digitizer thickness part 12 in spite of any deviation generated between the personal main body thickness part 11 and the digitizer thickness part 12 due to the arbitrary bending of the freely separable part 17. SOLUTION: A photosensor device 35 including an infrared radiator 40 and an infrared detector 41 is arranged at a personal computer main body thickness part 11. A flexible reflecting member 36 is attached to the prescribed face of a freely separable part 17 of a laser cover 13 so that a prescribed area is assured. When the personal computer main body thickness part 11 and the digitizer thickness part 12 are turned into an overlapped state, light radiated from the infrared radiator 40 is reflected on a flexible reflecting member 36, and falls on the infrared detector 41.

SOLUTION: The docking device 10 is equipped with a fan unit 36 at the rear part of the power supply unit 34 in the device main body, and an air inlet 54 is provided in front of a connection part 22 with which a note-sized PC 12 is docked. In this constitution, the air heated up to high temperature is exhausted from the device main body 20 and connection part 22 by the driven of the fan unit 36 and an external air is taken in from the air inlet 54 to prompt the cooling of the connection part 22 and further, the cooling of the note-sized PC 12 is prompted since the heat conducted from the rear end part of the PC 12 to the connection part 27 is radiated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior information processing system which is a type having a power management function for reducing the power consumption by adequately lowering or stopping the operating frequency of a CPU. SOLUTION: The CPU has a normal mode, a power saving mode which is lower in power consumption than the normal mode, and a stop mode where the operation is completely stopped. Then the system has >=1 peripheral equipment and a bus for communicating with the CPU and further has a communication port which is physically connected to other independent equipments and transfers data and a bus cycle detecting means which monitors bus cycles on the bus. In response to the detection of a bus cycle for assessing the communication port, a state decision means determines the operation mode of the CPU. Once the sate decision means determines the power-saving mode, a control signal for placing the CPU in the power-saving mode is sent to the CPU. Further, a control signal for stopping the CPU is sent once the stop mode is determined.
