Abstract: A modular latch for an automotive vehicle is provided. It includes a latch core (a housing and a ratchet and pawl rotatably mounted to the housing), a mounting plate that secures the latch core to the vehicle. The latch cure can use any of a plurality of different mounting plates for a lift gate latch, a decklid latch, and a sliding door latch; A latch module is mounted to the latch core to provide different functional including a manual release latch module, a power release latch module, a power lock and unlock latch module, and a power cinching and release latch module. The latch cure may fit a more or less universal envelope. The latch may employ one or more status sensors. Those status sensors may sense striker position, and may not necessarily include any sensors mounted to monitor ratchet position. The latch may include a layered latch core in which one or more sensor members move in different planes from the pawl and ratchet.

Die Schlossanordnung umfasst: einen Schlossmechanismus, der ein erstes Schlosselement zum Halten einer passenden Schlosskomponente in einer eingerasteten Position und zum Bewegen der passenden Schlosskomponente aus der eingerasteten Position zu einer ausgerasteten Position, wenn er ausgelöst wird, aufweist, wobei die Bewegung des ersten Schlosselements durch ein Schlossvorspannelement zu der ausgerasteten Position hin vorgespannt ist; und ein Betätigungssystem, das folgendes aufweist: ein Speichersystem für mechanische Energie mit einer Vorrichtung zum Speichern mechanischer potentieller Energie zum Unterstützen des Schlossvorspannelements beim Bewegen der passenden Schlosskomponente aus der eingerasteten Position zu der ausgerasteten Position; ein mechanisches Vorteilssystem, das eine Mehrzahl von Vorteilselementen zum Eingreifen mit der Vorrichtung aufweist, so dass die Bewegung der Mehrzahl von Vorteilselementen einer Auslöserkraft zugeordnet ist und die Kooperation der Mehrzahl von Vorteilselementen für die Verstärkung der Auslöserkraft als eine auslösende bzw. Anfangskraft sorgt, um die gespeicherte mechanische potentielle Energie freizusetzen; und ein Auslösersystem, das dazu konfiguriert ist, die Auslöserkraft bereitzustellen, um die gespeicherte mechanische potentielle Energie freizusetzen.

Abstract: A latch assembly for driving a closure panel from a closed panel position to an open panel position. The latch assembly comprises: a latch mechanism having a first latch element for retaining a mating latch component in a latched position and for moving the mating latch component from the latched position to an unlatched position when released, the movement of the first latch element biased towards the unlatched position by a latch biasing element; and an actuation system having: a mechanical energy storage system having a device for storing mechanical potential energy for assisting the latch biasing element in moving the mating latch component from the latched position to the unlatched position; a mechanical advantage system having a plurality of advantage elements for engaging the device, such that movement of the plurality of advantage elements is associated with a trigger force and cooperation of the plurality of advantage elements provides for amplification of the trigger force as an initiating force to release the stored mechanical potential energy; and a trigger system configured to provide the trigger force to release the stored mechanical potential energy.
