Abstract: An airframe design may include a bonded frame or assembly, and one or more components (645) that may be removably attached to the bonded frame. The bonded frame may include struts (102), central bulkheads (106), a tail section, a plurality of wing sections, and motor mounts (650) that are adhered together using adhesive. The one or more attachable components (645) may include a forward fuselage (640), motors (756), propellers (860), motor pod fairings (862), stabilizer fins, and landing gear (972) that are attached using fasteners. The bonded frame may reduce the number of parts of the airframe design and may also reduce complexity, cost, and weight, while also increasing stiffness and strength. Further, the various attachable components (645) may facilitate fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of an aerial vehicle having the airframe design.

Abstract: A modular unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system comprises a body module, a rotor module, and a wing module. The body module includes a flight controller and a power distribution device. The body module is releasably attachable to the rotor module or the wing module, and the body module is releasably attachable to the rotor module. The rotor module includes one or more motors and electronic speed controllers (ESCs), while the wing module includes a wing having a flap, elevator, aileron, or rudder. Various UAV configurations can be formed from the body module, the rotor module, and the wing module. Each configuration includes different advantages for flight time, distance, battery life, and payload capacity. A UAV can be configured to a particular configuration to optimize parcel delivery.

Abstract: An unmanned aerial vehicle according to certain embodiments generally includes a chassis, a power supply mounted to the chassis, a control system operable to receive power from the power supply, at least one rotor operable to generate lift under control of the control system, and a winch mounted to the chassis. The winch includes a reel and a motor. The reel has a line wound thereon, the line having a free end. The reel includes a circumferential channel in which a wound portion of the line is wound onto the reel. The circumferential channel includes an inner portion, an outer portion, and a passage connecting the inner portion and the outer portion. The motor is operable to rotate the reel under control of the control system to thereby cause the line to wind onto and off of the reel, thereby causing the free end of the line to raise and lower.

Abstract: An aerial vehicle is programmed or configured to respond to reports of events or conditions within spaces of a facility. The aerial vehicle travels to a location of a reported event or condition and captures data using onboard sensors. The aerial vehicle independently determines whether the reported event or condition is occurring, or is otherwise properly addressed by resources that are available at the location, using images or other data captured by the onboard sensors. Alternatively, the aerial vehicle transmits a request for additional resources to be provided at the location, where necessary. A map of the location generated based on images or other data captured by the onboard sensors may be utilized for any purpose, such as to make one or more recommendations of products that are appropriate for use at the facility.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a drone, comprising a cyclical hull with one or more cyclical rings, an external structure, and a piezoelectric system. The external structure comprises a fixed wing and a rotary turbine construction. The external structure is securely and rotationally connected to the cyclic ring. The external structure is configured to rotate exponentially around the cyclical hull, thereby enabling a stabilization capability of the drone to forward in the desired direction. The piezoelectric system is mounted on the cyclical hull for efficiently analyzing onward wind direction, thereby effectively rotating the external structure at high speeds to enable the structural integrity of the drone. The drone further comprises one or more locking systems to unlock the cyclical rotational turbine based on an alert received from the piezoelectric system. Further, the drone comprises a camera for capturing a surrounding view of the drone.
