Abstract: A formed catalyst containing Cu and oxygen-containing Ti compounds and produced with the addition of metallic Cu is used for the production of amines by the reaction of an alcohol, aldehyde or ketone with ammonia or an amine in the presence of hydrogen. Production of amines comprises the reaction of a primary or secondary alcohol, aldehyde or ketone with ammonia or a primary or secondary amine at an elevated temperature and pressure in the presence of H2 and a formed catalyst containing Cu and oxygen-containing Ti compounds and produced with the addition of metallic Cu.

The invention also relates to a method in which the inventive catalyst is used in order to catalytically decompose N2O which is pure or which is contained in a gas mixture at an increased temperature.

Abstract: Spinel extrudates are produced using a molding composition containing aluminum oxides, aluminum oxide hydrates and metal nitrates. Spinel extrudates are produced by extruding molding composition containing spinel powder and optionally extruding auxiliary aid, stabilizer, shrinkage reducer, and/or pore former. An Independent claim is also included for a honeycomb body obtained by drying the extrudates at 10-200o C, or by freeze drying -40-0o C under a pressure of 0.05-0.8 bar and calcining at 500-900o C.

The invention also relates to the use of said shaped body in the production of an alkene oxide.

The catalyst used contains a promotor which comprises at least one element or a compound of an element of the 2nd, 3rd including the lanthanides, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th or 14th group of the periodic system of elements.

Abstract: A method is disclosed of producing polytetrahydrofurane or polytetrahydrofurane monoesters of C1 - C10 monocarboxylic acids by polymerisation of tetrahydrofurane on a heterogenous catalyst in the presence of one of the following telogens: water, 1,4-butane diol, polytetrahydrofurane with a molecular weight of 200 - 700 Da, a C1 - C10 monocarboxylic acid, or mixtures of these telogens. The catalyst used is a carrier catalyst which contains a catalytically active quantity of an oxygen-containing tungsten or molybdenum compound or mixtures of such compounds on an oxide carrier material and has undergone calcination at temperatures of 500 - 1000 C after the precursors of the oxygen-containing molybdenum and/or tungsten compounds have been deposited on the carrier material precursor.
