본 발명은 전립선 비대증의 예방 및 치료제로서 황칠나무 추출물의 용도에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게 본 발명은 황칠나무 추출물 및 상기 추출물로부터 분리 및 정제한 화합물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 전립선 비대증의 예방 및 치료용 조성물과 전립선 비대증의 예방 및 개선용 기능성 건강식품에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 황칠나무 추출물 및 상기 추출물로부터 분리한 화합물은 전립선 비대 효과를 유발시키는 안드로젠 수용체 시그럴닝을 억제하는 기전을 통해 전립선 비대증을 효과적으로 예방 및 치료할 수 있음을 규명하였다. 따라서 본 발명에 따른 황칠나무 추출물 및 상기 추출물로부터 분리된 화합물은 전립선 비대증 및 전립선암을 예방, 치료 및 개선할 수 있는 의약품 및 기능성 식품의 제조에 유용하게 사용할 수 있는 효과가 있다.

The present invention relates to a use of a Dendropanax morbifera extract as an agent for preventing and treating benign prostatic hyperplasia. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition and a functional health food for preventing and treating benign prostatic hyperplasia, wherein the composition and functional health food comprise, as an active ingredient, a Dendropanax morbifera extract or a compound which is isolated from the extract and then purified. According to the present invention, the Dendropanax morbifera extract and the compound isolated from the extract have been proved to be capable of effectively preventing and treating benign prostatic hyperplasia through a mechanism for inhibiting the androgen receptor signaling causing benign prostatic hyperplasia. Therefore, the Dendropanax morbifera extract and the compound isolated from the extract according to the present invention can be effectively used in the production of medicines and functional foods capable of preventing, treating, alleviating benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.

The present invention relates to a composition for promoting hair growth which includes extract of dendropanax morbifera as an active ingredient and, more specifically, to a cosmetic composition for promoting hair growth which includes dendropanax morbifera as an active ingredient, and to a pharmaceutical composition and a health supplement for preventing hair loss, promoting hair growth, and improving scalp health which includes the dendropanax morbifera as the active ingredient. The dendropanax morbifera according to the present invention suppresses activities of 15-PGDH to increase PGE2 and has excellent effects on male alopecia through a mechanism which suppresses AR signaling which is an important mechanism for male alopecia.
