The invention relates to a catalytically active composition containing Pd and Bi as active constituents, and at least one element selected from the group (a) consisting of Rh, Au, Sb, V, Cr, W, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Na, Cs and Ba; or Pd, Rh and Bi, and optionally an element selected from the group (a') consisting of Au, Sb, V, Cr, W, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Pt, Cu, Ag, Na, Cs, Mg, Ca and Ba. The invention also relates to a method for dehydrating hydrocarbons, preferably oxofunctionalised hydrocarbons such as cyclopentanone, cyclohexanone and isovaleraldehyde, by means of the catalytically active composition.

Disclosed is a method for producing a multi-metal oxide material that contains the elements Mo, V, Te, and/or Sb, at least one of the elements Nb, Ti, W, Ta, and Ce, and optional promoters and has a specific X-ray diffractogram. The last step of the inventive method consists of a washing process with acid liquids. Also disclosed is the use of a multi-metal oxide material obtained by said method as a catalyst for heterogeneously catalyzed gas phase partial oxidations and/or the gas phase partial ammoxidation of hydrocarbons.

The invention relates to reaction membranes that contain a selective oxidation catalyst disposed on a ceramic membrane that selectively conducts oxide ions and that is composed of (Sr1-xCax)1-yAyMn1-zBzO3- delta , wherein A represents Ba, Pb, Na, K, Y, an element of the lanthanide group or a combination of these elements, B represents Mg, Al, Ga, In, Sn, an element of the 3d or 4d period or a combination of these elements, x is a number of from 0.2 to 0.8, y is a number of from 0 to 0.4, z is a number of from 0 to 0.6 and delta is a number that results from the principle of electroneutrality on the basis of x, y and z. The inventive reaction membranes are suitable for use in oxidative reactions of hydrocarbons in which oxygen is used.
