Abstract:
The invention relates to cosmetic or pharmaceutical agents having a liquid or gel consistency and containing at least one copolymer that, in turn, contains at least one N-vinyl lactam and at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a longer-chain alkyl radical or alkenyl radical, said N-vinyl lactam and monomer being incorporated by polymerization in the copolymer. The invention also relates to the use of copolymers of the aforementioned type in cosmetic or pharmaceutical compositions.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the use of water-soluble copolymers consisting of such characteristic structural elements as a) acrylic acid amide of the general formula (I), where R et R stand, independently of each other, for H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, and b) units of the general formula (II), where A represents a chemical bond or an alkyl group, the R residues stand, independently of each other, for H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or arakyl or, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are linked, an aromatic or non aromatic five to seven member heterocyclic ring, possibly mono- or polysubstituted, possibly containing one or two more heteroatoms chosen from among O, N or S, and capable of being annelated with another aromatic or non aromatic five to seven member ring, and R represents H, alkyl or aralkyl. The invention also pertains to cosmetics containing said polymers. 00000
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing solid dosing forms by mixing at least one polymeric binding agent, at least one active substance, and optional common additives while producing a plastic mixture and during shaping, whereby a copolymer from a N-vinyl lactam and from an copolymerizable monomer with a hydrophobic radical is used as a polymeric binding agent. Dosing forms which slowly release the active substance are obtained in a simple and economical manner.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing polymers which are water-soluble or water-dispersible or which, if they consist of monomers with neutralizable radicals, are water-soluble or water-dispersible in the neutralized form, by radically polymerizing a) ethylenically unsaturated monomers in the presence of b) silicone derivatives containing polyalkyleneoxide.
Abstract:
The invention concerns powdery complexes comprising iodine and a crosslinked polymer based on N-vinyl compounds and obtained by the dry heating of iodine and a polymer obtained by polymerizing monovinyl compounds (monomers A), of which the vinyl group is bonded to an N-atom of a nitrogenous heterocyclic ring, in the presence of between 0.5 and 10 wt %, relative to the monomers (A), of a compound (B) of general formula (I), A standing for -CH- or an N-atom and n being 2 or 3. The complexes are suitable for producing anti-diarrhoeal agents.

Abstract:
Use is claimed as an additive for skin cosmetics or dermatological preparations of a copolymer made by radical initiated copolymerization of a mixture containing an N-vinylimidazole or allylamine monomer, this being followed by partial or full quaternization or protonization should the N-vinylimidazole or allylamine monomer be non- (or only partly) quaternized Use is claimed as an additive for skin cosmetics or dermatological preparations of a copolymer made by radical initiated copolymerization of a composition comprising (by wt.): (a) an N-vinylimidazole or diallylamine (1-99.99%); (b) a neutral or basic water-soluble monomer other than (a) (0-98.99%); (c) an unsaturated acid or anhydride (0-50%); (d) a radically-copolymerisable monomer other than (a), (b) or (c) (0-50%); and (e) a crosslinking monomer with two or more ethylenically-unsaturated non-conjugated double bonds. The copolymerization is followed by partial or full quaternization or protonization should monomer (a) be non- or only partly quaternized.
