    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain the subject new compound, comprising a transition metallic complex having a specific o-indenylphenol derivative, etc., as a ligand, useful as a catalyst component for polymerizing an olefin and capable of providing a high-molecular weight polymer having a narrow distribution of molecular weight and composition and a high-molecular weight. CONSTITUTION: The new transition metallic compound of formula I [M is a group IVb, Vb or VIb transition metallic atom of the periodic table; R to R are each H, a halogen or a (halogenated) 1-20C hydrocarbon; R to R are each capable of binding two mutually adjacent groups and, together with the bound C atoms, may form an aromatic or an alicyclic ring; R to R are each the same species as that of R to R ; X and X are each H, a halogen, a (halogenated) 1-20C hydrocarbon or a group containing oxygen or sulfur; Q is O or SNR (R is H or a l-20C hydrocarbon), etc.]. The compound is useful as a component of a catalyst for polymerizing an olefin. This compound is obtained by deprotecting an o-indenylphenol derivative of formula II (R* is a protecting group of Q) with butyllithium and then forming a complex with a transition metallic compound such as ZrCl4 .

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a color developing recording material which has high whiteness of a skin, and high preservation stability such as moisture vapor resistance, light resistance, etc., of a color developer by incorporating quinone compound, amine compound represented by specific general formulae and acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:A color developing recording material such as heat-sensitive, pressure recording sheet, etc., useful for a record reader using a visible light and/or near infrared ray comprises three elements of quinone compound represented by a first general formula, amine compound represented by a second general formula, and acidic substance. In the first formula, A, B are hydrocarbon group, R -CO, R -O-CO-, R R N-CO-, and C, D are hydrogen, hydrocarbon group, halogen, R -CO-, R -COO-, R -O-CO-, etc. In the second formula, I, J are hydrogen or hydrocarbon group, K, L are hydrogen, hydrocarbon group, halogen, R -CO-, R -COO-, R -OCO-, etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance developed color intensity, to intensify absorption from a visible region to a near infrared region and to stably develop a color regardless of the change of acidity and basicity by adding an aromatic amine derivative represented by a predetermined general formula and an inorg. compd. having both of acid properties and oxidizing capacity. CONSTITUTION:An aromatic amine derivative represented by formula I (wherein R and R are a substituted or non-substituted aryl group, R and R are a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group or a substituted or non-substituted aryl group and X is a substituted or non-substituted arylene group), for example, N'-diphenyl-O-phenylenediamine and a heteropoly compd. as an inorg. compd having acid properties and oxidizing capacity or a metal salt thereof, for example, sodium phosphomolybdate are added to form a color forming recording material. By this constitution, the aromatic amine derivative can be efficiently converted to a color developing aluminum compd. and high absorption intensity and high fastness can be obtained within a range from a visible region to a near infrared region.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the color developing recording material capable of developing color in a practicablly sufficient intensity soon after color development operation and having absorption in a wide region from the visible region to a near infrared region in its color developing part by incorporating a specified compound, an oxidant, and an acidic material. CONSTITUTION:This recording material contains the compound of formula I, the oxidant, and the acidic material. In formula I, A is a univalent aromatic group; each of B and X is, an independently divalent aromatic group; Y is -O-, -NH-, -N (lower alkyl)-, -N(,aryl)-, or -N(aralkyl)=; Z is H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkoxy, aryloxy, aralkyloxy, alkylated amino, or arylated amino; each of R and R is, independently to each other, H, lower alkyl, aryl, or aralkyl. The oxidant is a quinoid type electron acceptor, and the acidic material is an aromatic carboxylic acid.

CONSTITUTION:A process for producing an aromatic carbonate which comprises thermally reacting with heating under pressure, an aromatic hydroxy compound with carbon monoxide and molecular oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising (a) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of palladium and palladium compounds; (b) at least one kind of cobalt compound; (c) at least one kind selected from the group consisting of organic halide compounds and inorganic halide compounds; and (d) a basic compound.
