    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable measurement of an extracellular ATP concentration, an extracellular and intracellular ATP concentration and blank value switching in order in a short time by operating many pumps and injectors corresponding to a measuring object. CONSTITUTION:For measurement of an extracellular ATP (adenosine triphosphate) concentration, the injector 1 is rotated in order to change the passage to the carrier liquid (C1) after supplying a cell suspension (S) to the injector 1 and the injector 2 is simultaneously changed in order to send a luminous agent (E) sandwiching the luminous agent (E) with carrier liquids (C2) after supplying the luminous agent (E) to the injector 2. For measurement of an intracellular ATP concentration, an ATP-extracted solution (R) is injected into the sample passage 3 from the supply passage 10 before a cell suspension (S) injected between the carrier liquid (C1) by the injector 1 reaches a mixer 6. Blank value is measured by supplying only the carrier liquid (C1) and the carrier liquid (C2).

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly assay in high sensitivity intracellular ATP for bacteria tests, etc., by subjecting a cell-contg. specimen to extraction with an ATP extractive reagent followed by adding a biochemiluminescent reagent to the resultant liquid extract to conduct a biochemiluminescence in the presence of an enzymatic reaction inhibition-suppressive reagent. SOLUTION: An ATP extractive reagent containing a surfactant (e.g. polyoxyethylene-10-octylphenyl ether) is added to a specimen containing cells (e.g. bacteria) to extract the ATP in the cells, and a luminescent reagent containing luctiferin and luciferase is then added to the resultant liquid extract to conduct a biochemiluminescence by enzymatic reaction, and based on the resultant luminescence, the ATP in the cells is assayed. In this intracellular ATP assay, the biochemiluminescence is conducted in the presence of an enzymatic reaction inhibition-suppressive reagent containing a silicone (e.g. dimethylpolysiloxane) to suppress the inhibition of the enzymatic reaction for the biochemiluminescence by the extractive reagent, thus quickly assaying in high sensitivity the target intracellular ATP for bacteria tests etc.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a chemical light emission detector, wherein the detection of light emission and emitted light quantity with an optical detecting means is done at a constant temperature, an measurement of emitted light quantity due to light emission reaction is done with high precision, stability and reliability with no affect from temperature. CONSTITUTION:A light-shielding case 1 that contains a flaw-cell 2 and a photomultiplier tube 3 is provided in a heat-insulation case 11, and further, a constant- temperature equipment 7 that contains a heater and a cooler is also provided in it. The constant-temperature equipment 7 keeps the atmosphere in the case 1 at a specified temperature, or constant temperature, so the detection of light emission reaction and emitted light quantity of a measured sample, introduced in the flaw-cell 2, with the photomultiplier tube 3, is done at a constant temperature, thus objective is attained.

With this, manual operation by an operator is not required, so objective is attained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prolong the life of a reagent and calibrating liquid by providing a reagent vessel connected to a detector in a thermostatic chamber which maintains the vessel at a room temp. or below. CONSTITUTION:After a sample liquid S is supplied by a pump 7 to an injector 10, the injector 10 is rotated to switch the flow passage to the flow passage of a carrier liquid C1 and the sample liquid S cut off in such a manner is inserted by the carrier liquid C1 fed by a pump 6 and is mixed 12. The flow passage of the sample liquid S is connected to the flow passage from a calibrat ing liquid vessel 1 by a 3-way valve 5 just before the pump 7. The calibrating liquid can be supplied to the ejector 10 in place of the sample liquid S by switching the 3-way valve 5 at the time of calibration. On the other hand, the reagent is supplied from the reagent vessel 2 by a pump 9 to another injector 11 and the reagent cut off by a similarly switching the injector 11 is inserted by the carrier liquid C2 and is mixed 13 by a pump 8. The liquid mixture from the mixers 12, 13 is further mixed 14 and is passed through a detector 15, from which the liquid mixture is discharged. This liquid mixture is processed 16 as an electrical signal and the concn. thereof is determined.
