    Abstract: The present invention relates to a reference image reconstruction method for correlation video tracking, through which tracking can be stably and accurately performed by removing clutter and noise from a stored reference image, and promptly renewing target information if a target is rotated such that the shape of the target is changed. The method includes the steps of matching templates extracted from a basic reference image and an input image; renewing a reconstruction reference image with an input template produced through the addition of target images extracted from the input image according to the maximum element value of a correlation matrix produced through matching of the templates; and comparing the renewed reconstruction reference image with a basic reference image at a predetermined time point to select a reference image excellently reflecting the current target shape as a basic reference image.
