Abstract: A process for carrying out a liquid/solid reaction comprises a) preparing a reaction suspension in which a first reactant is present in suspended form and a second reactant is present in dissolved form in a suspension medium, where one of the reaction products is insoluble in the suspension medium, b) passing the reaction suspension through an elongated reaction zone so that the Reynolds number of the stream is less than 20,000 and c) separating off the insoluble reaction product formed. The process has the advantage that the insoluble reaction product is obtained in a readily filterable form.

Abstract: A process is described for preparing ammonium salts of aromatic carboxylic acids by reacting an aromatic carboxylic acid with ammonia in an aprotic solvent, which comprises carrying out the reaction in a closed vessel by continuously introducing a solution of the aromatic carboxylic acid in the aprotic solvent and passing in gaseous ammonia so that an ammonia partial pressure in the range from 0.1 to 3 bar is maintained in the gas space of the vessel, and discharging a suspension of the ammonium salt in the aprotic solvent. Abstract: A method for the production of ammonium salts of aromatic carboxylic acids b y reaction of an aromatic carboxylic acid with ammonia in an aprotic solvent i s disclosed. Said reaction is carried out in a closed vessel and a solution of the aromatic carboxylic acid in an aprotic solvent and gaseous ammonia are continuously introduced into the vessel, such that a partial pressure of ammonia of 0.1 to 3 bars is maintained in the gas chamber of the vessel and a suspension of the ammonium salt separates out in the aprotic solvent. The method permits the production of ammonium salts with defined crystal size an d a narrow size distribution.

Abstract: A process for preparing polyether polyols includes a precipitation step, a recrystallization step, and a reaction step. The recrystallization forms a multimetal cyanide catalyst compound. In the reaction step, an initiator and one or more alkylene oxide are reacted in the presence of the multimetal cyanide catalyst compound.
