Abstract: Ziegler-Natta type catalyst system (ZNC), containing (a) a titanium-based solid component containing compounds of Ti and magnesium, a halogen, an inorganic oxide support (IOS) and a carboxylate ester as electron donor, (b) an aluminium compound and (c) optionally another electron donor, in which the oxide (IOS) has a pH of 1-6, an average particle diameter of 5-200 microns and an average primary particle diameter of 1-20 mu m, and contains pores or channels with an average diameter of 0.1-20 mu m in amounts of 5-30 vol%. Also claimed is (i) a process for the production of ZNC by interacting components (a), (b) and (c) together at 0-150 degrees C and 1-100 bar; (ii) a process for the production of polymers of 2-20C alk-1-enes by polymerisation of the alkene (preferably propylene) and optionally other comonomers at 20-150 degrees C and 1-100 bar in presence of (ZNC); (iii) polymers of propylene obtained by this process.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la obtención de productos de poliisobutenilsuccinimida, en el cual se hace reaccionar un poliisobuteno con ácido maleico, con anhídrido del ácido maleico o con un derivado funcional del mismo para dar anhídrido poliisobutenilsuccínico y, a continuación, el anhídrido poliisobutenilsuccínico se hace reaccionar con una oligoamina o con una poliamina, caracterizado porque el anhídrido poliisobutenilsuccínico (a) se hace reaccionar, en primer lugar, con un alcohol o con un fenol y, sin aislamiento del producto de la reacción, se hace reaccionar a continuación, con la oligoamina o con la poliamina, o (b) el anhídrido poliisobutenilsuccínico se hace reaccionar, en presencia de un alcohol o de un fenol, con la oligoamina o con la poliamina y (c) en caso deseado, se elimina a continuación el alcohol o el fenol.

Abstract: Use is claimed as a tanning agent (or an intermediate for a tanning agent) of a clay mineral which, after 30 minutes intensive stirring in water at 50degreesC, gives a laser and light scattering-determined ISO 13320-1 number average particle diameter (D) below 2 mu or a bimodal distribution of (i) 10-90 wt.% of a fraction with D below 0.5 mu and (ii) a coarser fraction of D below 5 mu. An Independent claim is also included for a formulation for use in chromium-free or chrome tanning comprising (a) a clay mineral as above and (b) one or more of an organic polymer, an aldehyde-, sulfone- , resin-, phenol- or vegetable-tanning agent, dubbing material, dye or pigment.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a three-dimensional molded part that comprises a carrier produced from a thermoplastic polymer and a leather layer applied on said carrier. Said leather and said thermoplastic polymer are linked by means of a tool that has a molding surface on which the leather comes to rest at a pressure of at least 50 bar, preferably of more than 100 bar, especially more than 180 bar, and at a temperature of more than 100 DEG C, preferably 180 to 280 DEG C, especially 200 to 250 DEG C, with the molding surface of the tool that rests against the leather being tempered. The invention provides a method for intimately linking the carrier and the leather layer. The molded articles produced by the inventive method have a substantially improved resistance to the effects of temperature or moisture variations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a heat exchanger. The invention also relates to a heat exchanger which can be produced by an inventive method and to the utilisation of a coating which is produced by currentlessly, chemically depositing a metal polymer dispersion layer having a halogenated polymer in order to make the coated surfaces less likely to accumulate solid materials from fluids whereby deposits are formed.

Abstract: Un proceso para la preparación de soluciones acuosas de polímeros de epiclorohidrinamina, que comprende las siguientes etapas de proceso: (a) reacción de dos aminas diferentes con al menos un derivado de epiclorohidrina como agente alquilante en agua durante un periodo que es suficiente para que el agente alquilante libre no sea detectable, resultando una mezcla de reacción (I); (b) si es apropiado, enfriar la mezcla de reacción (I) resultante de la etapa de proceso (a); (c) adición de al menos un ácido y, si es apropiado, agua a esta mezcla de reacción (I) hasta que el pH de la mezcla de reacción (I) sea de 4 a 10, resultando una mezcla de reacción (II), y (d) si es apropiado, hacer reaccionar la mezcla de reacción (II) con un agente productor de cationes, siendo las aminas dimetilaminopropilamina y bencilamina.

Abstract: A solid pigment preparation contains by wt. (a) a pigment (60-95%); (b) a water-soluble anionic surfactant (5-40%) which is a polymer of an ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or di-carboxylic acid optionally copolymerized with an acid function-free vinyl monomer, the alkoxylation product of such a (co)polymer or a salt of the (co)polymer or its alkoxylation product; and (c) a polyether-based nonionic surfactant (0-20%). An Independent claim is also included for production of the pigment preparation by wet comminuting pigment (A) in a suspension containing at least a part of (B) and optionally also component (C) and then optionally adding any remainder of (B) and/or (C) and drying the mixture.
