Abstract: Continuous production of 5-alken-2-one or 3,5-alkadien-2-one derivatives (I) by reacting a 1-alken-3-ol or 1-alkyn-3-ol derivative (II) with an alkyl acetoacetate (III) in a fractionation column to form an acetoacetate and alcohol involves (i) removing the alcohol and (ii) contacting the acetoacetate with catalyst in the lower part or bottom of the column to form (I). Continuous production of unsaturated ketones of formula (I) by reacting an unsaturated alcohol of formula (II) with an alkyl acetoacetate of formula (III) in the presence of an organoaluminum catalyst is carried out by: (a) reacting (II) with (III) on the plates of a fractionation column to form the acetoacetate of (II) and an alcohol of formula R OH; (b) removing the alcohol in the overhead stream from the column; (c) contacting the acetoacetate of (II) with the catalyst in the lower part or bottom of the column to form (I) and CO2; (d) removing the CO2 in the overhead stream from the column; and (e) withdrawing (I) in the bottoms stream from the column. R = 1-4C alkyl; R = 1-37C (un)saturated aliphatic hydrocarbyl (optionally substituted by methoxy groups), 4-12C cycloalkyl or 5-30C cycloalkylalkyl; and R = 1-5C alkyl.

Abstract: Procedimiento para la separación por destilación de fracciones con 5+ átomos de carbono en una fracción de punto de ebullición bajo (A), una fracción de punto de ebullición medio (B) y una fracción de punto de ebullición alto (C) en una o varias columnas con pared separadora (TK), en la que (o en las que) se ha dispuesto una pared separadora (T) en la dirección longitudinal de la columna con formación de una zona superior, conjunta, de la columna (1), una zona inferior, conjunta, de la columna (6), una sección de alimentación (2, 4) con sección de enriquecimiento (2) y sección de agotamiento (4) así como una sección de descarga (3, 5) con sección de enriquecimiento (5) y con sección de agotamiento (3), con alimentación de la fracción con 5+ átomos de carbono (A, B, C) en la zona central de la sección de alimentación (2, 4), con descarga de la fracción de elevado punto de ebullición (C) a partir de la cola de la columna, de la fracción con bajo punto de ebullición (A) a través de la cabeza de la columna y de la fracción con punto de ebullición medio (B) a partir de la zona central de la sección de descarga (3, 5), caracterizado porque la relación de reparto del reciclo líquido en el extremo superior de la pared separadora (T) se ajusta de tal manera, que la parte de componentes clave de elevado punto de ebullición en el reciclo líquido sobre la sección de agotamiento (3) de la sección de descarga del extremo superior de la pared separadora (T) sea desde un 10 hasta un 80%, preferentemente desde un 30 hasta un 50% del valor límite admisible en la fracción de punto de ebullición medio (B) y porque la potencia calorífica en el evaporador de cola de la columna con pared separadora (TK) se regula de tal manera, que la concentración de los componentes clave de bajo punto de ebullición en el líquido en el extremo inferior de la pared separadora (T) sea desde un 10 hasta un 80%, preferentemente desde un 30 hasta un 50% del valor límite admisible en la fracción de punto de ebullición medio (B).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of glutaraldehyde by reacting an alkoxydihydropyrane of general formula (I), wherein R represents C1-C20 alkyl, with water at a temperature in the range of from 0 DEG C to 2000 DEG C and a pressure in the range of from 0.01 bar to 16 bar, and obtaining glutaraldehyde and the alcohol that corresponds to the alkoxy group. Water and alkoxyhydropyrane are continuously fed to a reaction column and at the top of the column a distillate enriched with the alcohol that corresponds to the alkoxy group and at the foot thereof a product enriched with glutaraldehyde is removed. The inventive method provides a simple means for producing glutaraldehyde or C-substituted glutaraldehydes continuously and with an improved purity which requires a minimum of equipment.
