    Abstract: Prepn. of a diamine (I) involves reacting an aminoalcohol (II) with ammonia or a prim. or sec. amine and hydrogen at 1-400 bars and 80-250 degrees C in presence of a catalyst (A) contg. the following oxygen-contg. metal cpds. in amts. (by wt.) 20-85% Zr cpd. (calculated as ZrO2), 1-30% Cu cpd. (calculated as CuO), 30-70% Ni cpd. (calculated as NiO), 0.1-5% cpd. of molybdenum (calculated as MoO3) and 0-10% cpds. of aluminium and/or manganese (calculated as Al2O3 or MnO2). Pref.
