    Abstract: Hydroxyoxaalkylmelamines of the formula I wherein R is a radical of the formula II H &lparstr& O-CHR'-CHR' &rparstr& n (II), in which the radicals R' can be identical or different and represent hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl and n has the meanings 2 or 3 and the radicals R and R represent one of the radicals R or hydrogen, are prepared by reaction of melamine with a compound of the formula III H &lparstr& O-CHR'-CHR' &rparstr& n-NH2 (III), wherein R' and n have the meanings indicated above, at a temperature from 120 to 250 DEG C in the presence of an acidic catalyst, the acidic catalyst being employed in an amount from 0.01 to 0.15 mol, relative to 1 mol of melamine.

    Abstract: Productos de condensacion, que se pueden obtener por la condensacion de: (A) una mezcla que consta de: (a) una triazona, de la formula general I: (Ver Formula) donde R es alquilo C1-C6; fenilo insubstituido o monosubstituido, disubstituido o trisubstituido por o-hidroxifenilo, p-hidroxifenilo o alquilo C1-C4; o alquilo C1-C4 substituido por fenilo, o sus mezclas; y (b) una mezcla que consta de: (b1) una triazina de la formula general (III): (Ver Formula) donde Rx es alquilo C1-C6; fenilo insubstituido o monosubstituido, disubstituido o trisubstituido por alquilo C1-C6; o alquilo C1-C4 substituido por fenilo; y Y' es -NHZ, donde Z se selecciona del grupo que consta de hidroxi-alquilo C2-C109, hidroxi-alquilo-C2-C4-(oxa-alquilo C2-C4)m donde m es de 1 a 5, -NHCH2CH2SCH2CH2OH y amino-alquilo C2-C12; o sus mezclas. y (b2) una melamina substituida, de la formula general (II): (Ver Formula) donde X, X' y X" se seleccionan cada una del grupo que consta de -NH2, -NHR' y -NR'R", con la condicion que X, X' y X" no sean todos cualquiera de -NH2 o -NR'R", donde R' y R" se seleccionan cada uno del grupo que consta de hidroxi-alquilo C2-C10, hidroxi-alquilo C2-C4-(oxa-alquilo C2-C4)n, en que n es de 1 a 5, y amino-alquilo C2C12, o sus mezclas; y también, si se desea, (B) fenoles, los cuales están insubstituidos o substituidos por radicales seleccionados de alcanos C1-C4, substituidos por dos o tres grupos fenoles, di(hidroxifenil)sulfonas, o mezclas de estos fenoles con formaldehido o compuestos que donan el formaldehido, son utiles para producir artículos configurados, especialmente fibras y espumas.

Date Jun. 9, 1994.Condensates of polyalkylenepolyamines which are obtainable by (a) partial amidation of polyalkylenepolyamines and (b) condensation of the partially amidated polyalkylenepolyamines with bifunctional or polyfunctional crosslinking agents to give crosslinked polyalkylenepolyamines which, in 20% strength aqueous solution at 20 DEG C., have a viscosity of at least 100 mPa.s, processes for the preparation of the condensates of polyalkylenepolyamines by partial amidation of polyalkylenepolyamines with carboxylic acids, carboxylic esters, carboxylic anhydrides or carbonyl halides and crosslinking of the partially amidated polyalkylenepolyamines with bifunctional or polyfunctional crosslinking agents, from 0.001 to 10 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent being used per part by weight of the partially amidated polyalkylenepolyamines, and the use of the resulting condensates as drainage aids, flocculants, retention aids and fixing agents in papermaking.
