Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce or eliminate the possibility of duplicating originals of secret or guaranteed documents by a copy, an electrically processing method, etc., using a photograph or an electronic device. SOLUTION: In this method a facility is provided which has an electronic printer equipped with at least a kind of access controlling mechanism, and original documents are printed by the access-controlled electronic printer so that an image printed by it is produced at least from marking materials containing at least a kind of a photoactive additive, and a reproducing device of all the access non-controls is installed in the facility provided with an illuminating light source for secrecy with which an intended secret or guaranteed documents are irradiated with an intensity enough to activate the photoactive additive. Moreover, the facility has such a configuration that the intended secret or the guaranteed documents are irradiated with the illuminating light source of the access non-control reproducing device, and a printed image of the original document can not be copied or scanned at ordinary copying or scanning illumination intervals.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color measuring system on line capable of performing automatic calibration. SOLUTION: This spectrophotometer 12 measures a color printed on a color test patch 31 on a printed test sheet 30 moving in the vicinity when the test patch 31 is irradiated by plural different color irradiating sources in order. The irradiated color is reflected on the test patch 31 and detected by a photosensor D12. Recalibration is performed by providing respective calibration signals at some intervals from the respective electric output signals of the photosensor when the printed color sheet does not exist in an output path between the spectrophotometer and the still calibration test patch by irradiating the still calibration test patch installed on the opposite side to the spectrophotometer 12 of the output path by the irradiating sources put in order during the time agreeing with an adjacent gap between the printed sheets moving in the output path.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new improved technique for process control by connecting a specified expected tone reproduction curve with a tone reproduction sample to reconstitute a tone reproduction curve and by controlling a machine operation in response to the tone reproduction curve reconstituted. SOLUTION: In a image forming system having a control device comprising a set of actuator for projecting a printed image on a printed image forming surface, a image forming system is modeled with regard to an actuator for forming an expected tone reproduction curve. The expected tone reproduction curve is defined by a formula and an optional tone reproduction sample is obtained. The expected tone reproduction curve is connected with the tone reproduction sample to reconstitute a tone reproduction curve and a machine operation is controlled in response to the tone reproduction curve reconstituted. Here, in the formula, C is TRC measured, C▵ is TRC forecasted and C-is TRC reconstituted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply calibrate the color adjustment of an output image in a color-marking apparatus. SOLUTION: A target image which is composed of a preselection color, which is selected in advance, is converted into a control signal by a front-end converter 14 according to the color reproduction curve of the color marking apparatus 10. The apparatus 10 performs marking operation of the output image by the control signal, and a parameter which indicates the color of the image is measured by a sensor 12, on the basis of the image. According to the parameter, a point control-type controller 26 creates a control point for tone reproduction curve adjustment. A color balance controller 24 creates a color reproduction curve of the apparatus, on the basis of the control point.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance spectral color matching independently of a device and lighting by using feedback and real time sensing of a spectrophotometer. SOLUTION: A color output spectrally matching is obtained by using data from a real time sensor such as a spectrophotometer on an output tray of a marking unit, for example, to decide an output spectrum of a copied image. An output spectrum of the copied image is compared with that of a target spectrum stored in a memory of a computer in order to generate a mapping table spectrally matching all succeeding color image copies in real time. Thus, the spectrum of an output color matchces between a display and a print, a scanning and a print, a scanning and a display or a copy and a print.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the coherence of the appearance of a color original among plural color image forming devices or color display monitors connected on a distributed network by offering a service with color coherence by a color adjusting server and method independent of any device. SOLUTION: In a color adjusting system equipped with a device independent color adjusting server which can be connected to a network and at least one color image forming device which can be connected to a network, each color image forming device includes a color correcting system, and each color image forming device includes color sensors arranged so that the color quality of an output image formed by the color image forming device can be measured.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably control desired color tagging, tracking and insurance by a user interface that is simple and easy to use. SOLUTION: This printing system accurately prints proprietary marks and selected colors. A dictionary of recognizable patterns and defined colors corresponding to the proprietary marks and selected colors is linked to a user interface. Here, a user may designate a location within a document and at least one of a plurality of proprietary marks with defined colors from an accessible menu. A processor associates the defined colors with the image at the specified location and generates a printer signal representing them. Alternatively, the processor includes a pattern recognizer for identifying recognizable patterns within a document. The patterns have a likeness to defined patterns within a pattern dictionary and can be converted to the defined patterns for display or imaging.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To predict the analytical model of a dynamically fluctuating color reproducing device online. SOLUTION: A method and a device which predict the analytical model of the dynamically fluctuating color reproducing device online, repeatedly perform parameter adjustment algorithm and update a parameter until the analytical model is obtained. Parameter adjustment is calculated on the basis of a signal detected from an actual device output by a sensor itself and a measured error signal from an analytical model output. The convergence of parameters offers minimum error measurement, and the adjustment algorithm is repeatedly carried out until the updated parameter is discriminated as correct in a selected parametric model.
