본 발명은 땃두릅나무( Oplopanax elatus ) 추출물 또는 이의 분획물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 암 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로서, 구체적으로 땃두릅나무 추출물 또는 이의 분획물은 다양한 암세포주에 대하여 유의적인 세포독성 효과, 치사 효과(lethal effect) 및 세포사멸(apoptosis) 효과를 나타내며, 여드름 균에 대한 항균 효과를 나타내므로, 암 예방 및 치료용 약학적 조성물의 유효성분에 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다.

본 발명은 비타민나무 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 퇴행성 뇌질환 개선, 치료 또는 예방용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 조성물에 의하는 경우 내인성 신경줄기세포의 증식 및 분화를 현저하게 증가시킴으로써, 신경세포의 재생을 효과적으로 유도할 수 있으므로, 노화 또는 뇌의 여러 병리적 상황에 의한 신경세포의 손상으로 인한 퇴행성 질환을 치료, 개선 또는 예방할 수 있고, 상기 신경세포의 손상으로 인한 기억력이나 인지능력 저하 등과 같은 기능 저하를 개선 또는 예방할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 안정성이 인정되어 부작용 발생 가능성이 낮은 천연물을 이용하는 것이므로, 퇴행성 뇌질환의 치료, 개선 또는 예방을 위해 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.

PURPOSE: COMT gene originated from Miscanthus sinensis and its use is provided to use for the yield increase controlling the anti oxidation activation of plants as the phenolic compound contents are controllable in the vector-transformed plant. CONSTITUTION: The method to control the phenolic compound content of plant comprises a step that controls the revelation of COMT gene by transforming recombinant vector in a plant cell which contains COMT [caffeic acid O-methyltransferase] gene originated from Miscanthus sineis; and a step that redifferentiates plants from the transformed plant cells. The phenolic compound content of plant is reduced by inhibiting the revelation of COMT gene. The phenolic compound contents of plant is increased by the overexpression of COMT gene. The phenolic compound of plant is flavonoid or lignine. The inhibition of COMT gene revelation is executed by transforming the plant with the recombinant plant vector in which COMT gene originated from Miscanthus sinensis is inserted in an anti-sense direction. The COMT gene is formed with a base rank of the rank number 1. The plant with reduced content of phenolic compound is produced by inhibiting the expression of COMT gene.

The extract is an hexane fraction, ethyl acetate fraction, butanol fraction, or water fraction which is prepared by fractioning Sorghum bicolor crude extract with hexane, ethyl acetate, butanol, and water.

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing distilled liquor using Hippophae rhamnoides L. is provided to ensure the flavor and taste of Hippophae rhamnoides L. and to improve preference. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing distilled liquor using Hippophae rhamnoides L. comprises: a step of mixing steamed rice, modified nuruk, yeast, Hippophae rhamnoides L. leaves or extract thereof, and water to prepare a mixture; a step of fermenting the mixture at 20-30 degrees Celsius for 1-5 days to prepare crude liquor; a step of filtering residues from the crude liquor and maturing in a refrigerator for 1-5 days; and a step of distilling the matured liquor.

A kaempferol compound isolated from a kenaf extract(Hibiscus cannabinus) is provided to be used as active components of functional food with antibacterial and antioxidant activity. A functional food contains 0.1 to 20% by weight of a kaempferol compound represented by the formula(1) as an effective component from a kenaf extract and an excipient. The kaempferol compound is prepared by the steps of: obtaining crude extract by extracting kenaf leaf with methanol; obtaining a water layer and organic layer by extracting the crude extract with a solvent selected from water, aliphatic alcohol, aqueous alcohol solutions, hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, benzene and butanol; obtaining active fractions by absorbing the water layer and organic layer into a first silica chromatography column and eluting a fraction while changing the ratio of toluene and acetone or acetone and methanol; obtaining active fractions by absorbing the active fractions into a second silica chromatography column and eluting a fraction while changing the ratio of water and methanol(10:0 to 5:5); subjecting the fractions to gel filter chromatography(Sephadex LH-20) with 40% methanol; and finally recrystallizing the purified fractions and purifying a single active compound by high speed liquid chromatography.
