Abstract: PURPOSE: An electric brake apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to uniformly maintain an operating stroke required for braking and to prevent a gap between a brake disk and a brake pad from being increased. CONSTITUTION: An electric brake apparatus comprises a drive motor(1), a pad moving body(7), an elastic member(9), a sensor(11), and a controller(13). The pad moving body presses a brake pad(3) toward a brake disk using the power of the drive motor. The elastic member is vertically protruded toward the pad moving body. The sensor senses the change of power applied to the pad moving body. The controller sets the braking initial position of the pad moving body depending on the signal of the sensor.
