    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent reduction in yarn forming properties, by setting an ionic air blower in the vicinity of the lower part of a spinneret for melt spinning and carrying out spinning while blowing ionic air having polarity opposite to charge polarity of the spinneret on spun yarn and the spinneret from the blower. CONSTITUTION:A molten raw material consisting of a polymer such as polyester, polyamide, etc., is spun from a spinneret 3 for melt spinning. Then, ionic air having polarity opposite to charge polarity of the spinneret 3 in friction charge between the spinneret 3 and spun yarn 4 is blown on the vicinity of the under surface of the spinneret 3 from an ionic air blower 8 set in the vicinity of the lower part of the spinneret, the spinneret is neutralized, the spun yarn is more strongly charged with the same polarity and the yarn 4 is taken-up by an ejector, etc., so that reduction in yarn-forming properties resulting from friction charge between the yarn and the spinneret in spinning is prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:The roaster is provided with a two-dimensional sealing mechanism on its opening to prevent the yarn from trembling with the gas flow coming in whereby the yarn is not damaged. CONSTITUTION:The sealing mechanism 10 at the opening 2a of the roaster 2 for preoxidation or carbonization is composed of cell material 3 and cell part 4. The cell material 3 is constituted from sectioning parts 11a and 11b so that a plurality of cells 12 which have been formed with the parts 11a and 11b open in the substantially same direction, then change continuously in the different direction from the yarn-running direction. The cell part 4 is a panel 13 blocking the cell material 3 on one side. The sealing mechanism has a gap epsilonwhich has a space enough to pass the yarn without contact and is formed with a couple of the cell materials 3 blocked with the cell part 4 on their backs. Additionally, the cell materials are provided with yarn guides 16, 16 whose gaps are narrower than the gap between the cell materials 3 on the top and bottom.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a carbonized fiber having low variation of properties along the cross-sectional direction, by irradiating a raw material fiber with light from whole circumferential directions in a plane perpendicular to the fiber axis of the raw material fiber in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The reaction tube 1 is surrounded with the spheroidal mirror 15. A point light source 17 connected to a power source 16 is placed in the spheroidal mirror in a manner that the light emitted from the light source is reflected by the spheroidal mirror 15 and focused to the core axis of the reaction tube 1 from whole circumferential directions in a plane perpendicular to the core axis and from almost all directions other than the above. The point light source has a spectrum mainly in visible range and infrared range.
