Abstract:
Electron-optical device having two elongate emitting regions arranged symmetrically with respect to a longitudinal axis for producing two electron beams having an elongate cross section. By means of electron grids, the two beams are focused at the same point of an electron target arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis and having a short central axis and a long central axis. The elongate emitting regions have their smallest cross section parallel to the scanning direction of a device, cooperating with the electron-optical device, for scanning a target arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode-ray tube with high contrast (high brightness) and high resolution. SOLUTION: An electron beam generating part of an electron gun structure is provided with at least a cathode K emitting electron beam and a control electrode G1 arranged at a phosphor screen side of the cathode K. A cathode face 22 of the cathode K facing the control electrode G1 is of a concave shape at its center part 22C. The electron beams emitted from the cathode face 22 form a crossover crossing a tube axis O, and at the same time, a crossover position of the electron beams emitted from the center part 22C of the cathode face 22 is different from that of the electron beams emitted from a part distant from axis 22P of the cathode face 22. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gun lens that has high luminance, a low aberration coefficient, and a high spatial resolution, and a particle beam device equipped with the gun lens. SOLUTION: The gun lens (1, 1', 1") for generating the particle beam comprises a negative electrode (2), an extraction electrode (3), a positive electrode (4), and a condenser lens (5), and a deceleration field is generated between the extraction electrode (3) and the positive electrode (4), and a magnetic field (6) superimposed on the negative electrode (2), extraction electrode (3), and positive electrode (4) is formed by the condenser lens (5).
