Exemplary systems and methods are directed to automated performance of a plant process in a control system included in a production management system. The control system including a processor that is configured with integration model code for executing an integration model. The processor is configured to integrate various software systems by establishing a connection to an enterprise resource planning system and exchange information between the plant process and a business process such that production data are received from the processes substantially in real time and an updated status of a production order is received continuously. The integration model includes placeholders associated with variables for at least one of events, devices and plants, placeholders associated with functions to be executed, functionalities which link the variables and call up the functions, mappings of parameters between the software systems to be linked, and requests for loading information from one software system to another.

A resistive structure has an improved electric field profile deposited on the surface of a cylindrical insulating substrate. At least one resistive path or trace is provided with a helix-looking shape and is directly printed on the surface of the insulating substrate. A resistive voltage divider includes first and second resistors electrically connected in series, where each resistor is made of one or more traces of electrically resistive film material applied onto a cylindrical insulating substrate. At least one of the traces is shaped like a helix and is applied onto the substrate by direct printing.

A method and device for the programming and configuration of a programmable logic controller are disclosed. The method can include: locating a configuration tool in a programming tool, wherein the configuration tool includes a module in an IEC61131 language; integrating at least one further module into the configuration tool, and executing the programming and configuration of the programmable logic controller in a high-level language using a C-Code editor, and wherein the at least one further module is configured to provide a definition of interfaces between an IEC61131 code and a high-level language code, and provide a configuration of the high-level language code.

A system and method are disclosed, which can detect and process a position of at least one storage space device moving a bulk material. A first storage space device can have a gantry having two gantry legs, each of the two gantry legs supported on a linearly displaceable foot element. The system can include at least one first non-contact distance sensor, which is fitted on one of the two foot elements to measure a first relative distance between the one foot element and a first fixed reference point. A second non-contact distance sensor is fitted to the other of the two foot elements in order to measure a second relative distance between the other foot element and a second fixed reference point, and an evaluation unit is configured to determine rotation of the first storage space device about a central vertical axis and control the movement of the foot elements.

A method and system for configuring at least one communication interface module in a control or automation system includes a communication interface module for coupling at least two field bus systems. At least one first functional unit integrated in the communication interface module implements a connection to a configured superordinate controller via a first communication link on the basis of a first field bus protocol. At least one second functional unit integrated in the communication interface module implements a connection for field devices via a second communication link on the basis of a second field bus protocol. At least one further, third functional unit integrated in the communication interface module is configured to connect further field devices via input and/or output functionalities integrated in the communication interface module, and at least one serial interface integrated in the communication interface module can be used to configure the communication interface module.

An arrangement for cooling subassemblies of an automation or control system is disclosed, wherein the subassemblies each comprise at least one printed circuit board (LP) having electronic components of different temperature sensitivity arranged thereon. The printed circuit board (LP) has at least one first portion for temperature-sensitive components and at least one second portion for temperature-insensitive components that generate waste heat. Interspaces are arranged between the first portion and the second portion, the interspaces each forming a thermally insulated trench. Means can be provided which keep away the heat over the temperature-sensitive components in a suitable manner and dissipate the waste heat from the printed circuit board (LP) before the heat reaches the temperature-sensitive components.

Exemplary embodiments are directed to a method for detecting and tracking the position of a mobile transferring device/loading device of a bucket-wheel excavator or bucket chain excavator. The bucket-wheel excavator or bucket chain excavator includes an extraction device having a pivotable superstructure, which has inclinable cantilever, a track-drivable substructure, and a transferring device having a loading cantilever and renders conveyed material through a bench conveyor. An open-loop/closed-loop control device establishes the pivot angle and the inclination of the loading cantilever of the transferring device according to the signals of a plurality of sensors.

An electrical installation switching device includes a housing, a contact lever and a switch position indication, which is formed from a slide which is guided in the housing such that it can move longitudinally between a first indication position and a second indication position. The sliding movement of the slide is coupled to the movement of the contact lever. Latching means are provided on the slide and on the housing to detachably latch the slider to the housing in the first indication position, and thus to prevent inadvertent movement from the first indication position.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for coordinating two consecutive production steps of a production process including: a) devising a production schedule of a first manufacturing stage according to a first optimization target based on one or more first optimization parameters, in order to obtain a first optimization result; b) devising a production schedule of a second manufacturing stage according to a second optimization target based on one or more second optimization parameters, in order to obtain a second optimization result; c) assessing the optimization results with regard to an overall optimization target; d) modifying the first and second optimization parameters; and e) repeating the process of devising the production schedules of the first and second manufacturing stages according to the respective optimization target based on the modified first and/or second optimization parameters.
