Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing vinyl phosphonic acid compounds of general formula (I) wherein R1 and R2 are independently H, C1-16-aryl, C7-12-alkaryl or C7-12-aralkyl radicals, wherein the organic radicals can be substituted by one or several halogen atoms, hydroxyl, acyl or acetoxy groups. Production occurs by reacting phosphoric acid compounds of general formula (II) with acetylene in the presence of a Pd(II) complex and/or a Pd(0) complex or corresponding Pt complexes as a catalyst.

Abstract: A process for preparing cyclohexanol from benzene by: a) preparing cyclohexene by hydrogenating benzene in the presence of a catalyst, and b) preparing cyclohexanol by hydrating the cyclohexene in the presence of a catalyst, comprises: carrying out steps a) and b) in a reaction facility which has a bottom region at the lower end, a top region at the upper end, and a reaction zone between the top region and the bottom region which contains the catalyst according to steps a) and b), evaporating a portion of the benzene using the heat of reaction in the reaction zone, condensing it in the top region and returning it to the reaction zone, and withdrawing a reaction mixture containing cyclohexanol in the bottom region.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for hydrogenating at least one organic compound by bringing said organic compound into contact with a gas containin g hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst. Said catalyst comprises ruthenium as an active metal, either alone or combined with another metal of the subgroup s I, VII or VIII of the periodic table, deposited on an amorphous silicon dioxide-based support. Said catalyst is obtained by i): treating the amorpho us silicon dioxide-based support with a halogen-free aqueous solution of a low- molecular ruthenium compound, and subsequently drying the treated support at a temperature of less than 200 ~C, ii) reducing the solid matter obtained in i ) with hydrogen at a temperature ranging from 100 to 350 ~C, wherein step ii) is carried out directly after step i).
