Abstract: Preparation of aminodiglycol and morpholine comprises reacting diethyleneglycol with ammonia in the presence of a transition metal heterogeneous catalyst. The catalytically active mass of the catalyst, before treatment with hydrogen, contains oxygen-containing compounds of aluminum and/or zirconium, copper, nickel and cobalt, and that the catalyst molding is in spherical or strand form has a diameter of less than 3 mm, in tablet form has a height of less than 3 mm and in all other geometrical shapes with an equivalent diameter (L is I/a) of less than 0.70 mm.
