Abstract: The component has an electrode (2) arranged on a substrate (1). A radiation emitting layer sequence (3) has an active region (30), which radiates an electromagnetic primary radiation. Another electrode (4) is arranged on the layer sequence, and an encapsulation arrangement (10) is deposited on the latter electrode. The arrangement has a layer stack with a barrier layer (6) and a wavelength conversion coating (5) that partially converts the primary radiation into electromagnetic secondary radiation. The arrangement is partially transparent for the primary and/or secondary radiation. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an opto-electronic component.
