    Abstract: Agents composed of a mixture of a polycyclic nitrogen-containing compound of the general formula in which R denotes a divalent radical -NR or -N=N-NR - and R denotes a divalent radical -N=N- or -NH-NH- and R denotes a phenyl radical which is optionally substituted by halogen, haloalkyl, NO2 or short-chain alkyl, and of either a gibberellin of the general formula in which R and R independently of one another denote hydrogen or hydroxyl and the bond between carbon atoms 1 and 2 can be saturated or unsaturated, or a biosynthetic precursor of a gibberellin (for example ent-kaurenic acid) or an amino acid amide with a biologically equivalent action, of the general formula in which R and R independently denote hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, CF3, benzyloxy, C1-C4-alkoxy or halogen, and R and R independently denote hydrogen or alkyl, it being possible for R and R together to form a C4-C11-alkyl ring, and it being possible for the fused benzene ring to be partially hydrogenated resulting in a phthalimide or tetrahydrophthalimide structure, can have a favourable effect on plant development when used for the treatment of seed or the treatment of the substrate during sowing time.
