Date Sep. 21, 1995An industrial preparation of aldehydes and/or alcohols from olefins of more than 3 carbon atoms by a catalytic hydroformylation of the olefin reactant at a pressure of from 50 to 1000 bar and a temperature of from 50 to 180 DEG C. in the presence of an uncomplexed rhodium catalyst homogeneously dissolved in the reaction medium. The catalytic activity of the rhodium is maintained, first by extracting it from the initially discharged reaction mixture by means of an aqueous solution of a nitrogen-containing complexing agent such as sulfonated or carboxylated pyridines, quinolines or the like. In a recycle of the complexed rhodium to be reused in the hydroformylation reaction, the aqueous rhodium-containing extract is fed to a precarbonylation stage where it subjected to a required precarbonylation in the presence of an essentially water-insoluble organic liquid and in the presence of carbon monoxide, synthesis gas or another gas mixture containing carbon monoxide at from 50 to 1000 bar and from 50 to 180 DEG C. The mixture discharged from this precarbonylation stage is then separated into an organic phase containing the main part of the rhodium and an aqueous phase containing the complexing agent. The resulting rhodium-containing organic phase with the regenerated catalyst is then fed into the hydroformylation stage to complete its recycle.

    Abstract: Un proceso para la coproduccion de 6-aminocapronitrilo (ACN) y hexametilendiamina (HMD) mediante el tratamiento de adiponitrilo (ADN) con hidrogeno en presencia de un catalizador que contiene níquel a temperaturas no inferiores a la temperatura ambiente y presion parcial de hidrogeno elevada, en presencia o ausencia de solvente, el cual comprende, después que la conversion basada en ADN y/o la selectividad basada en ACN ha descendido abajo de un valor definido. (a) interrumpir el tratamiento del ADN con hidrogeno deteniendo la alimentacion de ADN y del solvente, si se utiliza, (b) tratar el catalizador de 150 a 400 degree C con hidrogeno utilizando una presion de hidrogeno dentro del rango de 0.1 a 30 MPa y un tiempo de tratamiento dentro del rango de 2 a 48 h, y (c) después continuar la hidrogenacion de ADN con el catalizador tratado de la etapa (b).

    Abstract: Aliphatic alpha,omega-aminonitriles are prepared by partial hydrogenation of aliphatic alpha,omega-dinitriles at elevated temperatures and superatmospheric pressure in the presence of a solvent and of a catalyst by a process which comprises using a catalyst which (a) contains a compound based on a metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, cobalt, iron, ruthenium and rhodium and (b) contains from 0.01 to 25% by weight, based on (a), of a promoter based on a metal selected from the group consisting of palladium, platinum, iridium, osmium, copper, silver, gold, chromium, molybdenum, tungsten, manganese, rhenium, zinc, cadmium, lead, aluminum, tin, phosphorus, arsenic, antimony, bismuth and rare earth metals and (c) from 0 to 5% by weight, based on (a), of a compound based on an alkali metal or on an alkaline earth metal. with the proviso that the component (a) is not based on iron or iron and one of the metals selected from the group consisting of cobalt, ruthenium and rhodium when (b) is a promoter based on a metal selected from the group consisting of titanium, manganese, chromium and molybdenum, and with the further proviso that, when a compound based on only ruthenium or rhodium or ruthenium and rhodium or nickel and rhodium is selected as component (a), the promoter (b) may be dispensed with.
