Abstract: PURPOSE:To prepare a low-toxic polyurethane resin giving a coating film having excellent appearance, acid resistance and water resistance, and suitable for coating use, by reacting a polyol with a novel 3-functional yellowing-resistant isocyanate. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyurethane resin is prepared by reacting (A) a polyol (e.g. polyester polyol, polymeric polyol, etc.) with (B) a triisocyanate-type 1,8-diisocyanate-4-isocyanatemethyl octane of formula (a novel compound). The molar ratio of (NCO)/(OH) of the product is pref. 0.5-1.2 for coating, 0.5-1.0 for electrical insulation, encapsulation analysis, casting, etc., and 0.1-0.7 for high- performance adhesive and curing agent.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide polyurethane resin useful for a paint composition not containing volatile monomer with high toxity and having no stimulating odor by reacting polyol and 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanate. CONSTITUTION:Polyol and 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanate represented by a formula. The above-described 1,6,11-undecane triisocyanete is a novel compound having good symmetric structure, having b,p, of 166-167 deg.C/0.2mmHg, being colorless and odorless liquid substance with good flowability in the vicinity of a room temperature, having low vapor pressure at about room temperature, having no stimulating odor to human body, being handled safely as well as containing isocyanate in a high concentration of above 45%. As polyol to be used, diol, polyol, polyetherpolyol, polyesterpolyol, polymerpolyol are included.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply measure the generation of efflorescence in a short time by using alcohol containing water solution of pH indicator exhibiting alkalinity. SOLUTION: The lower 1/2 part of a cement product in thickness direction is dipped, for example, in water to absorb water. The absorbed water is gradually moved to a surface layer which is not dipped in water. At this time, the alkali component in the product is moved to the surface layer with the absorbed water. When it is coated with a pH indicator having a color change area to the alkaline side to the alkali component such as pH indicator of thymol blue or phenol red, the color is exhibited in the color change area in response to the pH. The generation of efflorescence is predicted according to the degree of the coloring. Accordingly, the time up to a predetermined coloring area is measured to predict the easiness of generating the efflorescence in a short time.

CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin coating material such as an acrylic resin emulsion is blended with powder of sulfonated polystyrene-divinylbenzene resin or phenolsulfonic acid resin having 1-100mum particle diameter as a cation exchange resin so that the powder is contained in a formed coating film by 5-25wt.% and a coating material made of a coating compsn. is prepd. The surface of a cement substrate is coated with this coating material by spray coating or other method and the coated surface is dried to produce the objective cement product with a coating film having 10-150mum thickness on dry basis.

The thermal stability is extremely improved in this way as compared with the sheath material of the conventional alkyl methacrylate fluoride system and, therefore, the optical fiber is stably produced and the optical fiber having the excellent long-term heat resistance is obtd.

This polyester resin can melt at a relatively low temperature and can be easily molded because of its good flowability.
