Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for rivet-connection or punching-out, particularly, precisely performing the rivet-connecting or the punching-out process. SOLUTION: In the method for the rivet-connection of the punching-out by using the rivet-connection or the punching-out apparatus, with which a pick-up device 4 and a male type die guided with the pick-up device, are provided and both can be shifted to a female type die or a working material, and the female type die is connected with this apparatus through a reaction structural body 9, a relative shifting between the pick-up device 4 and the reaction structural body 9 is measured with a first sensor 1 and a relative shifting between the reaction structural body and the male type die, is measured with a second sensor 2, and the depth of the rivet-connection or the punching-out, is adjusted with two measured values. A related device can quickly and accurately detect the working material, or can perform the precise punching-out or the rivet- connection at a constant prescribed depth, regardless of the change of the quality of a material or the other parameter causing the deformation of the reaction structural body 9 during punching-out process.

Successively the mandrel is pulled against a pressing force of a receiving base placed on the tool, the pieced rivet is pulled out from the work by the mandrel with the thread.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify installing work by performing installation of a spiral coil insert and removal of a core by one work. SOLUTION: This power installing tool includes a tubular body having a bore 16 extending in the axial direction, a mandrel 20 coaxially arranged in the bore 16 of this tubular body, a punch coaxially arranged in the bore 16 of the mandrel 20, a motor 32 for rotating the mandrel 20 and an air cylinder 30 for imparting axial directional force to the punch. The mandrel can move to a position for engaging with a spiral coil insert and a position for installing the spiral coil insert in the selected depth in a female screw cut hole existing in a workpiece from a position retracted from the spiral coil insert. The punch slides in the axial direction in the bore 16 of the mandrel 20 for removing a core from the spiral coil insert as soon as the spiral coil insert is installed in the female screw cut hole.

The core 8 has a recessed part 45 extending from the front end on the side of the adjustment member 3 as long as at least a part of the length in the axial direction of the core 8. At least a part of the compression spring 19 is inserted into the recessed part 45 and the recessed part 45 is coaxial with the adjustment member 3.

The rivet R is sent into a rivet supply tube by a pressurized air. When conducting a change of a different rivet R or cleaning, maintenance, the work is done by loosing a butterfly nut 202 and removing an upper plate 190.

When driving the piston 76 in an arrow mark B direction, the rod 72 is rotated, the supply arm 74 is rotated to a position on the same straight line with a tension adopter and a nose part of the jaw case. A rivet R transferred by a rivet transfer tube 39 is blown to the nose part by a pneumatic pressure and is held by vacuum.
