Abstract: PURPOSE: A sports beverage composition containing Salicornia herbacia extract is provided to supply water and mineral as well as to increase cardiorespiratory endurance, fatigue recovery capability, and high antioxidation ability. CONSTITUTION: A sports beverage composition includes concentrate of hot-water extract from Salicornia herbacia. The concentration of concentrate of hot-water extract from Salicornia herbacia is 35 brix, and the content of the concentrate is between 1.5 %v/v and 1.8%v/v based on the total volume of the sports beverage. The hot-water extract from Salicornia herbacia is obtained by adding water to the dried Salicornia herbacia and extracting with 100°C boiling water. The concentrate of hot-water extract from Salicornia herbacia is obtained by condensing the hot-water extract from Salicornia herbacia at 80°C.
