Abstract: A method for detecting a user's falling down and a portable terminal therefor are provided to obtain low-frequency components during a wavelet resolution process, and to detect the user's falling down based on the low-frequency components, thereby notifying the user's acquaintance of the user's falling down by automatically sensing the falling down. An accelerometer(20) senses and outputs an acceleration signal at more than one axis. A square sum signal generator(32) squares signals at each axis of the accelerometer, and sums up the squared signals to generate square sum signals. A wavelet resolution unit(34) performs a wavelet resolution process for the square sum signals, and outputs wavelet-resolved signals. A falling-down detector(36) decides on a user's falling down based on the wavelet-resolved signals.

Abstract: 본 발명은 문자 입력 장치 및 방법을 제시한다. 이에 따라 본 발명은 터치 스크린(Touch Screen)을 구비한 단말기에서 2개 이상의 문자를 포함하는 문자 그룹을 터치 스크린상의 영역을 2개 이상으로 분할함으로써 생성된 문자 영역들에 각각 할당하여 표시하고, 문자 영역들 중 어느 하나의 문자 영역에 프레스 이벤트(Press Event)가 발생하는 경우 프레스 이벤트가 발생한 문자 영역에 속한 문자들을 각각 확대시켜 표시한다. 그리고 본 발명은 문자들이 확대 표시된 문자 영역들 중 어느 하나의 문자 영역에 해제(Release) 이벤트 및 드래그(Drag) 이벤트 중 어느 하나가 발생하는지 판단하여 드래그 이벤트가 발생한 경우, 드래그 이벤트의 거리 및 방향에 따라 어느 하나의 문자 영역을 지시하고, 지시된 문자 영역에서 해제 이벤트가 발생한 경우 그 지시된 문자 영역에 속한 문자를 터치 스크린에 출력한다. 따라서 본 발명은 원하는 문자를 쉽게 찾아 정확하게 입력할 수 있도록 하여, 키 입력이 좀 더 빠르고 편리하게 수행될 수 있도록 하는 편의를 제공한다.

본 발명에 의하여, 단말이 지그비 네트워크에 접속하지 않고, 지그비 네트워크 상의 다른 단말이 제공하는 서비스를 검색할 수 있는 효과가 있다. 그리고 종래 기술에 따라 서비스 검색을 위해 단말이 불필요한 접속 및 해제를 함으로써 발생하는 불필요한 네트워크 자원의 소모나 시간의 낭비를 줄이는 효과를 가져온다.
