Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cosmetic having high compatibility with a propellant gas, not substantially showing a flaking effect by making the cosmetic include a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer containing an α,β-ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid butyl ester, an α,β-ethylenic unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, dicarboxylic acid, or the like, in a copolymerized form. SOLUTION: This cosmetic comprises a water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer containing (A) an α,β-ethylenic unsaturated monomer of the formula [R1 is H or a 1-8C alkyl; X1 is O or NR2 (R2 or the like)], (B) an α,β-ethylenic unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and/or dicarboxylic acid, (C) a compound containing at least one α,β-ethylenic unsaturated double bond and at least five alkylene oxide units per molecule and (D) a compound containing at least one α,β-ethylenic unsaturated double bond and at least one 8-30C alkyl or 8-30C alkylene per molecule in a copolymerized form.

Abstract: Cosmetic agents, especially hair cosmetics, comprise water-soluble or water dispersible polymers comprising e.g. alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s), alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid(s), compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule. Cosmetic agent contains at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polymer comprising: (a) alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer(s) of formula (I): (b) alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acid(s); (c) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule; (d) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond and at least one 8-30C alkyl or alkylene group per molecule, and where (c) and/or (d) can be partially or fully replaced by (e); (e) compound(s) containing at least one alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated double bond, at least 5 alkylene oxide units per molecule, and at least one 8-30C alkyl or alkylene group per molecule; R = H or 1-8C alkyl; X = O or NR ; R = H, 1-8C alkyl or 5-8C cycloalkyl; An Independent claim is also included for the use of polymers as above as aiding materials in cosmetics (especially in hair cosmetics), in pharmacy, in coatings for the textile, paper, printing, leather and adhesive industries.

Abstract: Urethane (meth)acrylates containing siloxane groups, are new. Urethane (meth)acrylates (I) contain siloxane groups, which are polymerizable by free radicals, and which are made up from: (a) compounds containing active H atoms, and alpha , beta -ethylenic double bonds which are polymerizable by free radicals; (b) diisocanates; (c) compounds containing two active H atoms; (d) compounds containing active H atoms and siloxane groups; and optionally (e) compounds containing two or more active H atoms and ionogenic and/or ionic groups; (f) monovalent alcohols, primary or secondary amines and/or monoisocyanates; and/or (g) compounds containing alpha , beta -ethylenic double bonds and substituted with isocyanate groups. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) the production of (I) containing urea groups; (2) water-soluble and water-dispersible polymers comprising (I) co-polymerized with alpha , beta -ethylenically unsaturated monomer (M) which is polymerizable by free radicals; and (3) cosmetic and pharmaceutical agents containing the polymer of (2).

Abstract: Cationic polymers are obtainable by free-radical copolymerization, ofa) from 50 to 70% by weight of one or more monomers of the formula IX=O, NR ,R =H, C1-C8-alkyl,R =tert-butyl,(b) from 5 to 45% by weight of one or more monomers of the formula IIwhere n=1 to 3,(c) from 5 to 40% by weight of a monoethylenically unsaturated monomer having at least one amine-containing group,(d) from 0 to 5% by weight of a polyalkylene oxide-containing silicone derivative,where up to 40% by weight, based on (a), (b), (c) and (d), of the monomer (a) can be replaced by a monomer of the formula I where R =C2-C22-alkyl.
