    Abstract: Process for flaring off the let-down gases from reactors of a liquid-phase hydrogenation of coal or heavy oil, the reaction product leaving the reactors in vapour form together with unreacted hydrogen and gaseous C1-C4 hydrocarbons formed, this stream being cooled and the hydrocarbons condensing out, and the hydrocarbon condensate of the gases being separated in a cold separator, the pressurised gases leaving the cold separator being used as a propellant gas medium for the intake of combustion air for the flaring of the let-down gases.

    Abstract: Production of pigmented resin powders by finely dispersing dispersions of pigments in solutions of polymeric materials in at least one organic solvent in water containing a protective colloid while supplying mixing energy, and removing the solvent. A preferred method is to introduce one or more jets of water containing protective colloid at the rate of 5 to 100 m/sec into animpulse exchange chamber together with the dispersion issuing in the immediate vicinity of the orifice(s), and to remove the solvent. The method avoids crosslinking and provides pigmented resin powders of consistently reproducible color which are suitable for conventional powdered-resin coating methods.

    Abstract: The application relates to a process for continuously producing hydrocarbon oils from coal, heavy oils, tars and vacuum residues by pressure hydrocracking in three stages, ground coal with an oil mixture or heavy oils, tars and vacuum residues being pasted with finely disperse catalysts in the first stage, the resulting paste and hydrogen being heated and hydrogenated under pressure (liquid phase) and the gaseous reaction products being separated in hot separators from the liquid and solid reaction products and being passed in one or more reaction chambers over the hydrogenation catalysts arranged in the gas and being hydrogenated again (gas phase), the heat of the end products being transferred by heat exchange to the starting materials. Oils which have condensed out are separated into heavy boilers and light boilers in stripping columns under the system pressure with the aid of the process heat. All three stages, namely liquid phase, refining and hydrocracking, are carried out successively without let-down between the individual stages.
