    Abstract: The invention concerns naphtholactam derivatives of formula (I), in which: R represents hydrogen, optionally substituted C1-C6 alkyl, C5-C6 cycloalkyl or substituted phenyl; R and R represent hydrogen, C1-C8 alkanoyl, optionally substituted benzoyl, optionally substituted C2-C4 alkyl, optionally substituted C2-C4 alkenyl, optionally substituted C2-C4 alkinyl, a halogen, nitro, sulphamoyl, optionally substituted hydroxy, optionally substituted mercapto, C1-C6 alkylsulphonyl or optionally substituted phenylsulphonyl; R represents hydrogen or, with R , a group of formula (II); R represents hydrogen or C1-C6 alkyl; R represents cyano, carbamoyl, C1-C4 mono- or dialkylcarbamoyl, carboxyl or C1-C4 alkoxycarbonyl; and R represents substituted C1-C4 alkyl, optionally substituted C5-C13 alkyl or benzoyl. Also disclosed is the use of these derivatives for dyeing or printing textiles.

    Abstract: Disazo dyes of formula (I) are new. R , R , R and R independently = Br or CN, R and R independently = H, 1-10 C alkyl (optionally substituted by 1-4 C alkoxy, OH or CN), 3-4 C alkenyl, 5-8 C cycloalkyl, phenyl or phenylalkyl, A = 1-10 C alkylene which may be interrupted by 1-3 non-adjacent O atoms and optionally substituted by 1-4 C alkyl, and K = a residue from the benzene-, indole-, quinoline-, naphthalene-, thiophene-, thiazole-, pyrrole-, benzimidazole-, benzthiazole- or pyridine series.     Abstract: Production of microcellular polyurethane elastomers is claimed by reacting (A) high mol. polyhydroxy compounds and optionally (B) low. mol. chain extenders and/or crosslinkers with (C) 3,3'-dimethoxy-4,4'- diisocyanato-diphenyl in presence or absence of (D) catalysts, foaming agents etc.. Preferably the polyhydroxy component (A) is of functionality 2-3 and mol. wt. 500-6,000 and is especially a difunctional polyester polyol, OH-containing polycarbonate or polyoxybutylene glycol of mol. wt. 800-3,500 while the chain extender is an alkane diol, dialkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol of mol. wt. up to 800 and the crosslinker is also of mol. wt. up to 800 and is a tri-or tetra-hydric alcohol or polyoxyalkylene polyol of functionality 3-4. Preparation of the elastomer is by: (1) first preparing a prepolymer of NCO content 2-20 wt.% by reacting (C) with (A) and optionally (B) and then reacting this prepolymer with water and optionally also (B); or (2) first reacting (C) with part of (A) and optionally also (B) and then reacting the prepolymer obtained with a mixture of water, the remainder of (A) and optionally also (B).
