Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of giving the information that blood glucose density measurement is needed to a user at each suitable time. SOLUTION: This glucose analyzer includes : a measuring device 6 for measuring the glucose density; a display device 4 for displaying the glucose density; a signal device 10 for generating a scheduled confirming signal; and a control and evaluating device 7 including a processor and a data memory 8 and used for deciding the scheduled confirming time for actuating the signal device 10. The data memory 8 stores an event and time data including events corresponding to prescribed various events which occur in the living of a user of the glucose analyzer and information on the occurrence time of the event. Abstract: The invention concerns a test method for analysing a body fluid in which a test tape (14) is used in a test device (10) in order to successively provide analytical test fields (32) stored on the test tape (14), wherein body fluid (52) is applied by a user to the test field (32) provided at a time and the said test field is photometrically scanned using a measuring unit (18) of the device to record measurement signals. In order to increase the measurement reliability, it is proposed that a control value is determined from a time-dependent and/or wavelength-dependent change in the measurement signals and that the measurement signals are processed as valid or discarded as erroneous depending on the control value.

Abstract: The method involves using a test strip in form of a tape cartridge in a test device to prepare successive analytical test fields (32) on the test strip by tape transport. The test fields are treated by a user with a body fluid (52) and photometrically scanned using a measuring unit to record measured signals. A control value is determined from change in the measured signals over time and/or by wavelength, and the measured signals are processed as valid or rejected as erroneous following the control value that is stored in a radio frequency identification chip. An independent claim is also included for a test device for investigating a body fluid i.e. blood, for determining sugar in the blood.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device for determining sample application on an analytical test element in a photometric reflectance measuring device (10) specifically for glucose measurements, where the following measures are proposed: providing a disposable test element (12) for application of a body fluid sample, taking a sequence of reflectance readings from the test element (12), monitoring a change of the reflectance readings with respect to a sample application condition, adjusting the sample application condition in accordance with a drift correction. A value for drift correction of the reflectance readings caused by ambient measurement conditions, specifically, humidity, temperature, or UV radiation can be considered in a predefined signal decrease or in a predefined signal threshold for adjusting the sample application condition.

Abstract: 591702 Disclosed is a test tape unit (10). The test tape unit (10) includes a flexible carrier tape (14) that can be wound forwards by a tape drive (16). A plurality of analytical test fields (32) for the application of body fluid are applied on the tape (14). Each test field (32) is located on an associated tape section along with a check field (50) that is separate from the test field (32). Each tape section has a plurality of position markers (48, 58) for different functional positions that are structured to each be individually identifiable as a measured quantity by means of a tape sensor (20). At least one position marker is a check position marker (48) assigned to the check field (50). The check position marker (48) is separate from the check field (50) and identifies a functional position at which the check field (50) can be scanned for a functional check by a measuring unit (18). The measuring unit (18) is also operable to measure the test field (32) when the tape section is in a different functional position.
