Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, a method, and a program for remotely interacting with a diagnostic interface resident on wireless computer devices.SOLUTION: The wireless device provides an accessible diagnostic interface that allows reads and/or writes to device resident diagnostic data and tools. Through use of the interaction, wireless device status data and network status data can be gathered and utilized. The diagnostic tools resident on the wireless devices can be manipulated to alter wireless device operation.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for optimizing an active wireless network. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a system 10 for optimizing a wireless network 14 having at least data communication between computer devices 12, 18, 20, 22 selectively connected thereto. At least one of the computer devices 12, 18, 20, 22 is a remotely located wireless device. The wireless device 12, 18, 20, 22 has a resident network optimization application that causes the selective transmission of network status data to at least one other computer device on the wireless network 14. Then, either the data-receiving computer devices 12, 18, 20, 22 or another computer devices 12, 18, 20, 22 on the wireless network 14 optimizes the wireless network 14 on the basis of the received network status data. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a data channel resource for devices in a network. SOLUTION: This application provides a system, method, and program for optimizing the data channel availability on a computer device through optimally delaying the closing of an open channel on a computer network having expensive bandwidth, such as cellular telecommunication network (step 88 of Fig.3). The device includes a plurality of device resources that utilize an open channel to communicate across the network, and optimally delays the closing of an open communication channel after cessation of usage thereof by the plurality of device resources (step 74 of Fig.3) such that other device resources utilize the open communication channel prior to closure of the open communication channel while still minimizing the duration of the expensive open channel. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system, method, and computer program for billing wireless device subscribers based upon billable interaction with applications and services resident on third party computer devices that are accessible through a wireless network. SOLUTION: The system uses authenticatable transaction data that is created when a wireless device conducts a billable transaction whereby the data is a secure indication that a wireless device has performed a specific billable transaction event. The transaction data can be authenticated and then aggregated to generate billing for billable transaction events that occur on the wireless network. The billing can occur from a billing computer on the network or the aggregated data can be sent to a wireless service provider for ultimate billing to the wireless device subscriber. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods and an apparatus for creation and transport of multimedia content flows to a distribution network. SOLUTION: The system includes a method for transporting a content flow to an access network for distribution to devices coupled to the access network. The method includes transmitting a request message to add the content flow to the access network, wherein the request message has one or more flow parameters associated with the content flow. The method also includes receiving a response message indicating that the content flow associated with the one or more flow parameters will be added to the access network, and delivering the content flow to the access network. Abstract:
Abstract:
The disclosure is directed to a mobile communication device that may receive wireless broadcast signals from a number of different base stations or transmitters. The device alternates its operation between a low-power mode and a higher-power mode to conserve battery power. The length of time the device remains in the sleep mode is its sleep interval. The sleep interval is a function of two components. One component is set by the wireless broadcast network and the other component is set by the carrier that provisions the mobile communications device. When the device awakens from the sleep mode, it can check the status of any notification messages. If there are any updates, then it will process them. If there are no updates, then it will return to the low-power mode.
Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments provide methods and apparatus for establishing an invite-first communication session in a wireless communication network. The method includes receiving an invite message from an inviter, forwarding the invite message to at least one invitee, receiving a response from one of the at least one invitee in response to the invite message, and establishing the communication session between the inviter and the at least one invitee.
