    Abstract: The speed of a capacitive cell RAAM used for storing an optical image as electric charge is greatly enhanced by presampling the serial analog input signal on two rows or lines of presampling capacitors, each composed of the same number of capacitors as the number of columns of the capacitive cell RAAM and by "writing" in a parallel mode the selected row of said memory. The values stored in the capacitors of one of said two presampling rows are transferred (written) in the corresponding cells of the selected row of the memory while presampling continues on the other row of presampling capacitors.

    Abstract: For each cell (1) to be programmed, the present threshold value (Vo) of the cell is determined; the desired threshold value (VTAR) is acquired; the analog distance between the present threshold value and the desired threshold value is calculated; and a programming pulse (S) is then generated, the duration of which is proportional to the analog distance calculated. The programming and reading cycle is repeated until the desired threshold is reached. By this means a time saving is obtained, owing to the reduction of the number of intermediate reading steps. The method permits programming in parallel and simultaneously of a plurality of cells (1) of a memory array (2) which is connected to a single word line (51) and to different bit lines (41 - 4N), each with a programming pulse (S1 - SN) the duration of which is proportional to the analog distance calculated for the same cell. The programming process is thus very fast, owing to parallel application of the programming and the saving in the intermediate reading cycles.

    Abstract: Device for analog programming comprising a current mirror circuit (19) connected to the drain terminals of a cell to be programmed (2) and of a MOS reference transistor (27); an operational amplifier (31) having inputs connected to the drain terminals (13) of the cell (2) and respectively of the MOS transistor (27) and output connected to the control terminal (30) of the MOS transistor. During programming, the control and drain terminals of the cell (2) are biased at corresponding programming voltages and the output voltage of the operational amplifier (31), which is correlated to the current threshold voltage level of the cell (2), is monitored and the programming is interrupted when this output voltage becomes at least equal to a reference voltage correlated to the threshold value desired for the cell.

    Abstract: An efficient adaptivity to varying conditions of luminance is embodied in an optical sensor composed of an array of photosensitive cells each including a photosensitive structure, a storage capacitance, a first switch (CKSTORE) for storing the photogenerated charge in the capacitance, and a second switch (CKREAD) for selecting the capacitance when reading the charge stored therein, by detecting the level of the global current photogenerated by the totality of the photosensitive elements, during an initial phase of each frame capture, storage and reading cycle, and by subsequently controlling the closing interval of said first switch (CKSTORE) of the cells in function of the detected level of the global photogenerated current. The implementing control circuit may be realized in various forms.
