Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of even though images can be processed simultaneously with a microarray in parallel in a microarray technique, the processing speed of an analytical technique using a digital microprocessor is limited and the efficiency of the technique is disturbed. SOLUTION: The system, by which an image containing the matrix of spots, such as the images or the like of a hybridized DNA microarrays after hybridization has been conducted, is provided. The system is provided with a circuit 20 which processes an image signal corresponding to the images. The circuit is constituted on the basis of the architecture of a cellular neural network(CNN) for the parallel analog processing of the image signal. The circuit can be related to a sensor 10 acquiring the images, and it can be integrated with a single monolithic component, on which a VLSI CMOS technique is mounted.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new neuro-fuzzy integration architecture capable of realizing on-line self-training. SOLUTION: This architecture is provided with a fuzzy type microcontroller 11 exclusive for fuzzy rule calculation and integrated on a semiconductor together with a non-volatile memory 9 so as to be monolithic, and the same IC is provided with a microprocessor 5, a volatile memory unit 2, and an arbiter block 3 connected to a bus 4 connecting the fuzzy microcontroller 11 and the microprocessor 5 and the volatile memory unit 2. The arbiter block 3 controls access to the volatile memory unit 2 by the microcontroller 5 or the fuzzy microcontroller 11. Then, an additional fuzzy co-processor 6 for fuzzy logical arithmetic processing is connected between the fuzzy microcontroller 11 and the microprocessor 5.

The PET decoder also has a control unit(CU) that interfaces the ATM communication network with a programmable parallel processor.

Abstract: A knocking presence evaluation circuit in an internal combustion engine having at least a pressure sensor (3) facing in combustion chamber for each cylinder comprised in the engine itself and suitable to detect a pressure signal ( Pr_Sign ). Advantageously, the circuit comprises: a processing block (7), connected, in correspondence with an input terminal (IN4) of the knocking presence evaluation circuit (4), to the pressure sensor (3) and receiving therefrom the pressure signal ( Pr_Sign ), the processing block (7) performing a processing of the pressure signal ( Pr_Sign ) for insulating the oscillations and generating a derived pressure signal ( Fl_Pr_Sign ); an acquisition block (8), connected at input to the processing block (7) and receiving therefrom the derived pressure signal ( Fl_Pr_Sign ), the acquisition block (8) generating a first and a second measure signals ( Pul_Cnt, Pul_Dur ) respectively corresponding to a number and a total duration of digital pulses obtained from said derived pressure signal ( Fl_Pr_Sign ); and a soft-computing block (9) connected at input to the acquisition block (8) and receiving therefrom the first and second measure signals ( Pul_Cnt, Pul_Dur ) and connected to an output signal (OUT4) of the knocking presence evaluation circuit (4) to which the output terminal supplies a knocking intensity index ( Knock_index ), calculated by soft-computing techniques, starting from the first and second measure signals ( Pul_Cnt, Pul_Dur ). A knocking identification and control system associated with an internal combustion engine and a processing method of a pressure signal for the detection and the evaluation of a combustion phenomenon in an internal combustion engine are also described.
