Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a resetting operation to be performed easily by arranging a resetting position sensor on the rotational phase angle of a pulse motor corresponding to a resetting position and also a sensor dog which acts on the resetting position sensor through rotation following that of the pulse motor. CONSTITUTION:A pressure barrel shaft located at any position is allowed to rotate to an adequate value in a barrel setting direction and a sensor dog 179 is enabled to stay on the barrel setting side instead of on a barrel lifting posi tion photosensor 177. Next, the detection of a barrel lifting position by the barrel lifting position photosensor 177 is determined, and if not detected, the pressure barrel 11 is moved by a single pulse amount. If this operation is contin ued until barrel lifting position detection, and if detected, the pressure barrel 11 is shifted in a barrel lifting direction by another pulse amount. Consequently, the subsequent action of a pressure barrel pulse motor 153 becomes steady and information on the accurate rotary phase of the pressure barrel pulse motor 153 is available only by the count of a drive pulse, thus controlling the barrel setting and lifting operation easily.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable automatic paper insertion to be easily performed without requiring difficult control, by feeding a continuous paper at a velocity lower than the circumferential velocity of a transfer cylinder when inserting the paper through a gap between the transfer roller and a restricting member. CONSTITUTION:While an impression cylinder 11 is reset to a position apart from a blanket cylinder, a pin feed tractor 13 starts paper feeding at a low velocity of, for example, 1/4 of the velocity at the time of printing. Since the paper feeding velocity at the time of inserting the continuous paper 12 is extremely low, the paper 12 is struck in the moving direction thereof by the blanket cylinder 2 and the impression cylinder 11 when passing through the gap while making contact with the cylinder 11 under its own weight to be fed toward a suction conveyor 14. Accordingly, automatic paper insertion can be easily performed without any difficult control and without crushing the end of the continuous paper 12 even when a paper-discharging roller 206 is provided.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make it possible to also use a solvent applying roller as a dust removing roller at the time of printing, by using a material having a stickiness property but not having the compatibility with ink as the material of the solvent applying roller. CONSTITUTION:When a material having stickiness but having no affinity with ink such as silicone rubber is used as the material of a solvent-applying roller 1803, the roller 1803 is intermittently or always contacted with a blanket cylinder 2 corresponding to the amount of the dust on the cylinder 2 during printing. The dust such as the paper powder adhered to the surface of the cylinder 2 during printing is adsorbed by the surface of the roller 1803 by utilizing the stickiness of silicone rubber. The above-mentioned dust is gradually recovered in a liquid tank 1805 through a scoop-up roller 1804 at the time of the washing of the cylinder 2. Therefore, the surface of the roller 1803 is protected from a cover of dust. The transfer of the residual ink from the surface of the cylinder 2 during washing can be effectively prevented because the material low in the compatibility with ink is used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the rapid attainment of a prescribed printing density when transfer is made to a regular printing process after a forming process, by a method wherein the thickness of an ink film on a form roller or a plate cylinder is detected by a sensor to control the quantity of ink scraped by an ink scraping device so that the thickness of the ink film be the form reference thickness of the ink film in the forming process and that the thickness of the ink film be the printing reference thickness of the ink film in the regular printing process. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric sensor 31 for detecting the thickness of an ink film on a plate cylinder 3 or a form roller 7a just after transfer is made from the form roller 7a is fitted at a prescribed position of the main body of a printer, and an ink film thickness detection signal therefrom is inputted to a microprocessor. A construction is made so that an amount of intrusion of a doctor blade 7b, in other words, the thickness of the ink film on the form roller 7a, is adjusted on the basis of an instruction delivered from the microprocessor.
