Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the mixing of pixel materials and the dispersion of pixel density between adjacent picture elements at the time of patterning by jetting picture element material drops from a nozzle at a specified speed. SOLUTION: A piezoelectric element 1 splits continuously jetted ink by vibrating the nozzle 2 and turns it to ink drops (pixel material drops). A charge electrode 3 imparts a prescribed electric charge to the passing ink drop by a pulse voltage applied based on printing information signals. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for printing and at the same time, making it possible to control a plurality of nozzles with high accuracy by arranging a plurality of head units, each of which has ink jet discharge nozzles aligned in a straight line, arranged widthwise across a large width than the width of a printed medium. SOLUTION: This printing device 1 carries a cloth C stored in the box 2a of a guide-in part 2 into a transport part 3 and transports the cloth C to a printing part 4 side with the help of a transport belt 3b. The printing part 4 has a plurality of arrays of line heads 40 which are positioned opposite to each other and orthogonally with the transport direction across a width larger than the width of the cloth C, and correspond to the number of ink colors to be used. Each of the line heads 40 has a head part with an excitation means which distributes an ink to be supplied from an ink supply system into a plurality of discharging nozzles and splits a discharged ink column into ink droplets. These head units are assembled into a head unit, and these head units are aligned in a linear shape and arranged orthogonally with the transport direction and across a width larger than the width of the cloth C.

The inclination angle of the substrate is adjusted based on the substrate position information obtained by the 1st means and the substrate is positioned to the prescribed position and the position of the substrate and the nozzle is relatively positioned to each other based on the position information of the reference groove of the substrate which is obtained by the 2nd means and the position information of the reference hole of the nozzle which is obtained by the 3rd means.
